A bit about NIT Kurukshetra

My course curriculum is well and good and include all theory and practical knowledge about all chores of industrial and production engineering. Faculty to student ratio is like 1:20. I have chosen this course according to my JEE main score. All faculty have done PhD in their subjects and we'll qualified. Teaching of some faculties is not engaging and they might bore bit some teaches very well also considering the practical Outlook of Subject together. In a six month semester, there are two mid semester exams and one end semester exams along with practicals everytime. Passing the exam is little bit harder for a mechanical engineering student as marking is very strict and sometimes even source and books are not available even. Reappear is common thing for mech engineering student, So consistency in studies and academics is a very need.

College give access to students for internship in 6th semester that they can go out of the campus and be an intern in any company. Some companies also come to college to hire interns in internship drive and avg stipend of 20,000. If not intern, then students can also do projects to add to their resume.

Students are eligible for placements in 7th semester and many companies come to hire them in All core and software fiels. Few companies do come even in the time of recession. Percentage of students getting placed Is 50% and average package is 10 to 15 lakh.

Fees structure is according to government as it is government college. For students belonging to general category, it is 80000 per semester excluding hostel charges and other expenses. But for student of sc/st and obc, ews, category it is very low like 35000 and even Nil for some. Scholarships are available for EWS students through NITKAA association in the college but there is no job opportunities with stipend available in the campus.

Life at campus is all good overall as all facilities are there. College have two fests every year, CONFLUENCE the cultural fest and TECHSPARDHA the tech fest. Both are organized by college students itself with the help of sponsors. These are conducted in October and January respectively. Books are available in college library but some books might be of old edition as college was established way back. Journals and newspapers are also available there during the library timings i.e. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Almost all classrooms have fans and ACs for the students and faculties and sitting desks are also good. Projector and smart boards are also there for ease of everyone. Campus also do have a sports ground with 400 m track and various courts for games like basketball, handball, football, volleyball, badminton etc. There are many clubs in college for Photography, Literature and debating, Managing clubs, Space clubs and non profit society named Shiksha for teaching slum children.

Hostel facility is very good. For girls, there are single seater rooms with a bed, study table, 2 chairs and Almira in the room with a balcony. There are automated fans and good lightning along with a lamp and rooms are painted timely. Also there is canteen in hostel and other facilities like tailor, parlour, gym and reading room etc. Mess food is also okay and vegetarian but sometimes it is not upto the mark and seems boring. There is special food also available for Jain and for those who keep fasts and a lpg gas is available 24/7 for whoever want to cook on their own and eat. Registration process for hostel was very easy and affordable for a middle class family.

Admission process was through JOSAA Counselling. I gave JEE Mains exam for degree of engineering. The cut off for the exam was to score above 80 percentile. The eligibility of course was having a cgpa above 7.5 in 12th class. The application forms for JEE main exam is available on official site of NTA.
