Remarks

All together I am in a need of a degree. That's the only things which IGNOU is providing no facility or better faculty I have witnessed till date.

Entrance Preview

I am working and IGNOU is the best University for distance learning. I work in Barclays which is an UK bank, best part about this University you get options while appearing for exams whether you're comfortable giving exams in June if not then in December.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The books are given by them as well as the references are advised by them. So the basic idea is provided totally in there material but more extra knowledge you can refer to the writers or books advised by them. It's not that difficult but yes the course material is as compared to different universities is way too much. For even a single subject you might get 8 books to cover.

Internships Opportunities

No, they do not provide internship as far I am aware. There is a job fair link which is provided by them but that isn't useful.

Placement Experience

0.5

Job opportunities and placements are NIL in this University. It's just about knowledge and getting a degree from this University is what happens in this University. So you would rarely find any help from the University end to get the employment done for the students.

College Events

0.5

Nothing No celebrations has taken place in IGNOU if it does it could be for the name sake of it. It's just the convocation part which matters for a new student rest it really doesn't matters for them to invite their current student or to organise any event

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes fees structure is affordable for everyone. Recently it was a free education or maybe concession in subjects for transgenders took place in IGNOU fee structure which was a great step taken by IGNOU. A middle class family or a person who's above poverty line can easily afford paying the fees. I'm not sure is there anything which our university offer for below poverty line population (no offence to anyone).

Fees and Financial Aid

Nope as it's the one of the cheapest universities loan isn't required to be taken for paying the fees.

Campus Life

3.5

So I'll be honest with you I never get an opportunity to visit the labs. I do have two subjects which are lab based but I'm not even sure where are classes held for those as no one in the faculty is aware about it which is the most disgusting part. So gender ratio is not my thing to know

Hostel Facilities

3.5

So even I'm not sure whether we have a mess or a hostel facility, recent being this to be an open University. Students are not required to stay in the campus or attend regular classes. So the whole idea of offering hostel to students isn't there in our university.

Alumni/Alumna

Nothing, as it's an open University there's no such interaction between alumni or senior students if in case you personally know them that's another advantage as they can guide you with the policies and ways to get your work done in IGNOU.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is simple. Either you can appear for the exams in June or in December. Which ever it's comfortable. Evening morning exams can happen on the very same day for two different subjects. Your date sheet depends on the faculty but they don't really check the weightage of the subjects clashing on the very same day. Two hard subjects Two easy subjects or vice versa

Admission

So after clearing my senior secondary which was XII. I was confused amongst the universities which offer distance learning. My friend advised me to opt for IGNOU which will help you to get a degree and the fees is also affordable. When registration was happening I just created a student id filled a form and selected my subjects which I am comfortable with.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty isn't that pretty much organised. The only reason which I get from them is that it's a distance learning portfolio so if a student is facing any such issues which is subject related or course related you will hardly find anyone helping you which is disheartening. I at times regret opting for IGNOU because of the same reason.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
