Course Curriculum Overview

4

I didnt had any particular preference in any branch of science; physics, chemistry or mathematics to choose from so i got with physical sciences with chemistry as it is course based on amalgamation of all subjects. In my cousre there were 150 students which were divided into 2 seperate classes so to have good faculty student ratio The hindu college faculty is very qualified except a few guest lecturers whom i feel that they ware not even up to the mark. The teaching method is tha traditional chalk and board one mostly while many teachers prefer slideshows. Examination date sheet is announced at the very onset of semester in the delhi University. So schedule is very much pre known and fixed. Also its quite easy to pass du examinations with decent score if you have well studied the previous year papers.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are number od intership opportunities available for students depending upon there courses and departments . Since my course basically comes under chemistry /science department i can elaborate on it. There are summer internships in laboratory ( chemistry and physics) which are under guidance of internal as well as an external teacher.

Placement Experience

4

In my course basically there is no scope for placement.so my knowledge is very minimal and limited for placement functionaries. But placement record of college is very high and max one reaches to atleast 40 to 50 lpa. There are different societies which work specially and specifically for placement related works Eg disha the placement cell.

Fees and Financial Aid

It was very problematic when our college suddenly increased our fees for final year as we all come from middle class background and such sudden hike causes quite disturbance to our budgets. Although the college fee in general is not very much the cost of living in delhi University north campus is pretty high as well as the resources needed to study I am an inspire scholar so neither do i applied for any others college or university scholarship nor i am eligible for the same. Though my college and university provides a number of scholarships to various meritorious and needy students.

Campus Life

5

Our annual fest is "Mecca". It is the largest fest of entire du circuit. It is generally organised in the month of april/may when the fest season is on throughout the university. Hindu college library is very vast and have a very large number of books. Also our library got renovated with additional two more floors which would modernise and revolutionize the reading atmosphere of library with more computers, reading spaces and books. All classroms are equipped with charging sockets, blackboards, slideshow projector and department specific stuff. As chemistry lecture halls have periodic tables in them. While many rooms are also well air conditioned. The sports ground is the biggest in tha entire University and it have all sort of sports places and machinery like vollyball, cricket, football, basketball etc and an gymnasium also. Students run a number of societies related to academics and co curriculars and all of them have seperate social media handles and websites.

Admission

I got admission in the college in year 2021. It was the last batch to be admitted in delhi University on basis of cut off/merit ranking on basis of class 12th marks. The form was available on DU official site , uod.ac.in (admission). I availed the economically weaker section (ews) reservation while taking admission. For this i had to submit my ews certificate duly signed by tehsildar/sdm of my district The admission process is very smooth, and a bit improvement can be in the help center and more helping Contacts related to admission queries

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
