Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Computer science as it has always been in my best interests and it is one of the most growing engineering sector. The student ratio in computer science branch at NITC is the best among all branches as there are around 45 Faculties for 204 students as of 2023. All the faculty are PhD holders from tier 1 colleges with atleast 10 YoE in teaching. The teaching method is intuitive as they include real life scenarios to facilitate imaginative learning. Although some courses which required extensive math input are not taught well. Talking about the exams, passing them is definitely not cakes walk as all courses are relatively and continuously graded and you'll have to put in constant effort to stay ahead of your peers. All exams are conducted timely and adhere to the excellence of the institute.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Various companies visit NITC like Oracle, Microsoft etc and the roles offered for internships are developer assistant with highest stipend bring close to 2 lakhs INR. Interns are directed to watch and learn from the senior developers on professional development and most of the interns are given a pre placement offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost to study is 125000Rs per annum for general category above 5 lakh income students. But if you're from other categories or have less income than 5 lakh, you can avail fee concession by submitting your income certificate in the portal. For Kerala SC/ST students, Egrantz scholarship can be availed. Other than this a multitude of scholarships can be availed as we are notified of any new scholarship opportunities opened to us. Only con is in the fees breakdown, there is an unexplained seat fee component which no one knows why and the management is keeping there silence on the issue.

Campus Life

5

The tech fest and cultural fest of NITC is Tatva and Ragam respectively. Tatva is usually conducted in the last quarter of the year and Ragam in the first. We have one of the biggest libraries with lakhs of book, a really large digital library, multiple study rooms and lot of other amenities. Only con about library is that the main gate to the library is closed due to security reasons and we have to take the long way round. Classrooms are well equipped for 100 people and two people sit in a bench. Every classroom has a projector, a white board, a big blackboard, sound system so that everyone can hear what the professor is teaching and enough fans. NITC gives immense importance to sports. All years are given opportunity to join the college sports team of the respective sports. We have indoor badminton courts, tennis court, cricket and football grounds with floodlights for night usage. There are various cultural and technical clubs you can join. SAC run by students cares for grievances.

Admission

Admission to NITC bachelor's in technology courses are done via JEE Mains entrance examination. Counselling is done through JOSAA portal as all NITs follow it. All the details for applying can be found on JOSAA website and afterwards once you've secured a seat in NITC you will be directed by mail on how to proceed with the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
