It has been a wonderful experience. A rather reminiscent one.

Remarks

Our college provides lots of extra-curricular activities for students which help the student to realize his worth and how he or she can improve themselves. The timings of our college are so that we get time for our hobbies and extra learning as well. Students get time to prepare for other competitive exams which is a good thing for them.

Entrance Preview

It is a college that comes under Delhi University, so admission was totally merit based and my interest was in the field of economics so I opted for Economics honors. No such formal interview is conducted only cut-off list is given due importance for the process of admission in all DU colleges. Though Deshbandhu is not that popular college, however, it has been great till now for me. I did a background check from my school seniors before deciding to take admission here. I chose Eco Hons. because Economics always fascinated me, as to how our country is running just on the basis of Economics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is good with not very much focusing on practical learning though, research initiatives have been taken by the college, particularly DBT star projects are also in the process right now. list of elective options is quite heavy, you get to choose a subject every semester depending on the interest and variety.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide any internships and students have to find internships on their own. Internships are to be done before the final year of our college. Though our professors guide us in finding the correct type of internships suitable to us according to our subjects and talents. Internships are not compulsory for all students.

Placement Experience

4

I have no idea about the placement structure of my college. Though many of my seniors have been placed from college itself, but, I've no knowledge about the placement process of our college. There is a certain criteria .for sitting in college placements and once a student fulfills the desired conditions, he or she is allowed to sit in college placement tests.

College Events

5

Sabrang college fest is one of the most sought after fests in our college. We also have many inter-departmental fests from time to time. Footfall of about 2-3 thousand people is observed every year. The events are organized pretty well and college is quite supportive for that.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government University, fee structure is even less than nominal. 3 years costed me about 20000/-. But our college does not provide hostel facilities to their students. Students look for other alternatives like PG's and room for rents. Though, the PG,s are situated near the college area itself and are much affordable fitting the students budget.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since, I did not avail any scholarship so I have no knowledge about the scholarships in our college. But the college provides some privilege to the students who are not able to pay their fees on time.

Campus Life

3

The college provided many avenues to get my hidden and inner talents out. The college provides for all types of demands be it a room for debating or musical instruments. The college has been very supportive in providing all the facilities for extracurricular activities, like speakers for dance practice, mics for debate practicing etc.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Our college has no provision for providing hostel to students. The students can look for PGs and rented rooms. The PGs are available near the college itself and are pocket-friendly. PGs are available as per the need. It is single sharing, double sharing, and triple sharing basis too. From what I've heard from my friends, food is okayish in PGs.

Alumni/Alumna

I feel that that there is not a great alumni network in our college. We do not get to meet or talk to the pass-out seniors. The college does not provide any such facility to their students. Though, students do that on personal basis.

Exam Structure

Our college has a chill culture when it comes to exams and labs. We have a proper schedule for both internal and external exams. Due to the proper scheduling, we do not face any troubles during exam time.

Faculty

4

The faculty is quite educated and experienced. They have a vast amount of knowledge and are very interactive. The teaching standards are very high where education is taken very seriously. New teaching methods are inculcated in our lectures to make it more interesting. The teachers in our college are very understanding and help us in clearing even the smallest doubt.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
