Likes

Nice clubs: There are various clubs such dance, drama, music, coding and many more
Exotic surruounding: Campus is very nice and there are lots of places to visit in the campus itself
High teaching : Teaching methodology is very efficient

Dislikes

Lack of girls: Number of girls is very less.
Walking distance: You'll have to walk very long distances.
Raining: It rains here almost 6 months. Its very annoying to face it almost every day

Course Curriculum Overview

I had a great interest in Mechanical Engg from starting. For each 20 students there is one faculty advisor.Faculties are well qualified . Most of them are from IITs and other foreign universities. In each semester there is mid sem exam and end sem exam .Along with that there are assignments and quizzes.Mid sems are held after a month and end sems are held at the end

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available in large numbers. Various companies visit for internship such as google, amazon, l&t, bloomerg and many more.Stipend offered was between 10k to 15k.Companies offered various innovative roles. Some of the roles were related to research projects.

Almost 90% stuedents are placed. Almost 130 companies visited last year and made almost 998 offers. Highest package offered was 52 lpa and lowest was 6lpa. I'm looking up for placements from this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees per semester is 107k for those having income above 5lakh.This includes both tuition and hostel mess charges. Fees per semester is 67k for those having income above 1-5 lakh.This includes both tuition and hostel mess charges. Fees per semester is 45k for those having income less than 1 lakh and SC/ST candidates.

Campus Life

There are a lot of cultural programs and fests organised. Technical fest TATVA and cultural fest RAGAM is also orgnised in Novemember and March. There is a central library and lots of books of various subjects. Classrooms are well equipped with fans and comfortable benches. Lots of sports facilities are available such as crickert , hockey and many indooor such as badminton,table tennis,etc

Admission

For admission 12th pass or any equivalent degree is required. Admission is done on the basis of JEE Mains rank. Reservation benefits is given as per government rules.Application dates are as per jee mains dates. Admission is done on the basis of mains result.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
