First the infrastructures and the campus are very beautiful.
Campus life at nit calicut is 'awesome'.

Dislikes

Food at the hostel mess is bad i my opinion
Institution is situated out of the city. You should travel oe hour to reach calicut city.
Some decisions of collage management are a bit unwanted.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am doing b.tech in mechanical engineering. The faculties are goid actually. Some of them really care about kids than their's subjects. All faculties are highly qualified as per my knowledge. Exams takes place as in the academic calender. Both midsem and endsem exam sholud be taken. And totel score with internals are assesed for grading. For mechanical engineering thermodynamics was a little tough.

Class Size: 54Course Fees: INR 81455 per year

Internships Opportunities

As a first year student i don't know that much about internships at all. But as per my knowledge there are lots of opportunities in various companies for internships. Internship cell at the collage will help you.

Placement Experience

Placement are very high nit calicut. From the third year of b.tech you will be eligible for Placements. Lot of multi national companies visit the campus during the Placement time. Google, Microsoft, Tata,oracle are frw of them. Highest package offerd last year was about sixty six lakhs. I plan to get gob at isro after getting this degree

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is about 1 lakh per yr. There are lot of scolorshpis which are provided by government or other companies. I don't really know about campus jobs at all. Financial assistance and other helps are provided.

Campus Life

Campus life in nit calicut is very wonderful. Annual tech fest is well known THATHVA. Anual cultural fest is RAGAM. Both are one of the gratest fests in south india. Sports and other extra curricular activities in our collage is plenty. Lot of clubs and home teams works in our campus.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel will changed according to the year. First year hostel is inside the campus. As a first year student i will say our hostel rooms are fine. I didn't face any issues there. But the mess and meal quality is a concern. Sometimes food is very bad.

Hostel Fee: INR 62000 per year

Admission

Admission to nit calicut is throgh jee mains. People need good percentiles to get into the institution. Cutoff differs from course to course. And reservations benefits are availed. Each catogory has differtent cutoffs.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
