Collage doesn't just mean that something you do after your 12th to get a degree and have a place in the society. Its where you recognize who you really are, what are you capable of. At least for me it was like that because of the facilities from my collage like the Hut Labs, you can create your IEEE membership which will be useful to you in many ways. And about the CIR, our collage is the first one to conduct SSR[Student Social Responsibility] and made it mandatory for all 3rd year student as part of academics. It is a project where we go to a town or city as a team, figure out some problems in it and solve it,its not just for marks, but during the process you face the society and see what the real life is like,so it was really a great experience for all of us which is also helpful to us in our future.

Entrance Preview

After my 12th board i was not quite sure on what to choose but my mind was inclined towards electronics so i researched on the courses related to electronics and the collages as well.I had to write the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam [AEEE], in order to join the collage. After the result is published if you are under certain rank, they'll send you the call letter for the counselling process where you can select your desired branch and campus so that's how i landed here.Excluding the counselling there was no separate interview, so frankly speaking its a golden opportunity for talented students who have stage fear or who are hesitant in speaking up in front of an interviewer.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The first year there is no core subjects for any branch, they brush up all the concepts learned from school that is physics and chemistry and corresponding labs,so after making sure we are good in our basics then only they start the core concepts of respective branches. They also include cultural education as a part of academics which teaches us value based education.Apart from the theory lectures they focus more on practical learning such as workshops, labs and visual learning. Many workshops will also be conducted by organisations and outside from collage which does not come under your academics but which you can be part of in order to improve your knowledge.Apart from this there are many researches going on inside the collage itself which are even successfully implemented in the society. You can join doing the research if you are dedicated enough to sacrifice your holidays. The main research labs in the collage includes HUT labs MISR lab AMMACHI labs etc which are open for the students to join anytime and conduct researches. You can choose your elective in 3rd semester but this does not include your core electives which you can choose later in your academic year as it differs for each branches. The main electives includes languages,Business learning,Economics etc.

Internships Opportunities

For undergraduate most likely it will be an unpaid internship. As mentioned earlier the Hut labs provides many internship programs related to Robotics and Technology. Ammachi Labs they can join you with them in the research works if you are dedicated.Internships from the ISEEE will be conducted now and then. And lots more are there where we can join and improve our knowledge.

Placement Experience

4

I'm currently 3rd year ongoing. We have our placements at the end of our 6th semester,so i cant say anything about it right now,but anyway many of our seniors got placed in companies like Miu Sigma, Infosys,Amazon etc.In the mass recruitment the main companies coming to our collage are TCS, Boshe etc

College Events

5

The main huge scale Technical Event which was conducted here was the ROBOTSAVAM which is a tech fest exclusively for robotics conducted by IEEE members, really proud to be a part of it.We had an international conference for paper presentation called RAHA .And another high scale event called VIDYUT which was there before i joined and now its going to be conducted again in 2018. Cultural fests include KALOTSAVAM which is another Mega event of great organisations, then Onam Festivals,Our chancellor and a great humanitarian Mata Amritanandamayi Devi's birthday celebrations etc are huge events conducted in collage annually.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee was legitimate when compared to the quality of the course, infrastructure and the teachings. Detailed figures are given below. Please note that this given information is for 3rd year and the fee structure may not be the same each year. Section Total Amount To Pay Tuition Fee RS 145500.0 Special Fee RS 6000.0 Hostel Rent RS 21000.0 Mess Fee RS 39000.0

Campus Life

4

Excluding the academics we have a subject called CIR which include Soft skills, Amplitude and Verbals,It focuses mainly on the campus interviews,i.e we are being trained for our interviews and placements. The faculties are really dedicated towards this which is a great advantage for us as students.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are separate for boys and girls so parents need not worry about that. Its a sharing type room where 4 people can stay,At first even when my parents heard it as 4 people they thought it would be congested but that's not really true,For 1st years we were in ashram where rooms are a bit small, but from 2nd till last year we shifted to boys hostel and it has more space.Fee structure is already mentioned .Coming to the food,i have to admit its not as good as we though it would be but we got used to it and now its not much of a problem. We can go outside anytime and eat.

Exam Structure

Each semester we have two periodicals and an end semester, so exams are not much really tiring. For assessments we have class tests and assignments.Same conditions apply for labs too, each semester we have 2 labs ,each per week correspondingly we have lab exams and lab end semesters. So the point is if you keep up the work till last then it'll become hectic or else its fine

Faculty

4

The whole institution abide by its value and respect for culture,so were the faculty members. We can approach then whenever we want be it either academics or personal they'll try their best to help you. About the teaching many where exceptionally good, some performed a bit less than what we expect from them,of course in a big institution like this there'll be some problems, but the good thing is we can always give our feedback about the faculty so if a whole bunch of student have similar opinion then it will be taken into consideration. We can always talk freely because the more you talk to the teacher the more interactive the classes will be.In times of exams we can even call the faculty for doubt clearance and so on.Thus overall they have a good collection of faculties in all branches.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
