Dislikes

Electrical Branch is most hectic branch. You dont get time for other things
Very strict rules. Some unnecessary rules by DISCO
Student lives in themselves. Nobody cares what are you doing. everybody is in ratrace.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of my interest in electrical and electronics. Faculty student ratio is about 1:20 . Teaching method is traditional and little boring. Faculties have immense knowledge. Term Exams are difficult to pass.

Placement Experience

From 5th semester students are eligible for college placemets TOP compnies in the world offered placement IN IIT ROORKEE highest pacakge is about 2 cr. and average is about 30lpa and about 70 percent students got placed .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is very high specially for a middle class student but there are scholarship for them like tution fee waiver which completely or partially waves off college fee.There is no college fee for SC ST students.

Campus Life

IIT have high quality lifestyle which you will never ever experience again. IITs are mainly famous because of their fest like THOMSO and tech fest like cognizance. All books are availble in library . You dont need to buy any book. Sports facilities are good.

Hostel Facilities

Almost all rooms are double sharing and somewhat are triple sharing in 1st year only. 3rd year onwards you get single bed rooms. Registraion process are normal and easy. Mess food is ok ok. Hostles are best part of college life

Hostel Fee: INR 85000 per year

Admission

The admission process of JEE ADVANCED involve qualifying in JEE MAIN with subjects like maths ,chemistry,physics. For application check official website of nta and jee advanced regularly. All necessary details availble on websites.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .

IIT Roorkee is the best one can get on overall basis.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement starts in Semester 7 and 8 for can say, in the last of graduation. HUL,TCS, Microsoft,JP Morgan and many huge companies visit campus for placements. Highest pakage in placement goes around 1.5 crore annually to lowest pakage around 8 LPA. Companies mainly comes for SDE role. But apart that few comes for PM, Data Science, Consulting profiles as well.

aspects of curricullum that influenced my desicion to take admission: technical based courses are available. a well defined infrastructure. seperate buildings to involve in different regions of technology. available technical courses with updated and advanced syllabus with great faculty and seminars of different active clubs like google and microoft club. Responsive faculty and well managed curriculum to focus on specific areas of each students to make them better in the region of technolgy where they want to grow. mid level toughness with regular tests and end sem combining the internal and external practical exams.

I always loved coding and learning about new technologies. Also, jobs in CS/IT department are paid high. The faculty and student ratio is on the medium side. Faculties are highly qualified from IIT and top private colleges. They are very helpful and have a great pedagogy.

Best college of uttrakhand

Remarks:

A very good college. There is no spoon feeding scene like that of private institute. As good ranking students are there you can have a good academic competition which will nurture your ability and groom to you be a better engineer.

The feeling of being in IIT Roorkee

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. No i didnt get rejection from any college with my rank in jee main and advanced 2025 The admission process is straight like 1) JEE main 2) JEE Advanced 3) Josaa counselling Cutoff for top seven iits is higher than all other iits neans that you cant get into top seven just by qualifying jee advanced, you must have a good rank....Read More

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. IIT Roorkee - The complete story

I had 4 main options in hand after JEE - BSc Physics in IISC Bangalore (I had cleared KVPY), Electrical engineering in IIT Indore, EPH in IIT Roorkee, and Computer Science in Nit Trichy. I did not choose IISC, as I wasnt sure whether I wanted my career to be in research. My coaching faculties advised me not to take an NIT when I was getting a top 7 IIT. It was a tough choice choosing between EE in IITI, and EPH in IITR. However, at the end, I choose Roorkee because of its legacy, better facilities, and a calmer environment.
