What Students Say
Likes
- The College View. There's nothing like it. The Night Sky takes me to a different abode of heavenly consiousness.
- Faculty of my Branch : Faculty of my Branch ECE is highly quaified and supportive.
- Peer group : Although small, give you hard competition to force you to get the best out of yourself.
Dislikes
- Trash everywhere: Students here, like most indians, hold no regard for maintaining cleanliness and throw around plastic wrappers which really spoils the campus aesthetics.
- Junior Senior System : There's sometimes too much of it. They give you assignments to do. Although the situation is now much better than before, so you don't have to worry.
- Uniforms : You have to wear uniforms.....As if 12 years of schooling wasn't enough. Yeah People. Very Effective Way of disciplining students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics Engineering at GBPEC due to its versatility bridging software and hardware sectors, aligning with my interest in the semiconductor industry. The faculty-student ratio is 1:60 for lectures and 1:20 for practical sessions ensures personalized attention. Professors hold Ph.D.s from prestigious Indian Universities, some with M.Tech qualifications. Their teaching methods effectively guide students through engineering concepts. Term exams were timely, with moderate evaluation speed. Exam difficulty was manageable, allowing adequate preparation for successful passage. Overall, the program offers a balanced curriculum, supportive faculty, and everything is manageable.
Placement Experience
There is No campus Placements. Most students look for off-campus placements through referrals, connections and internship experience. They crack 9-12 LPA Jobs Many students prepare for GATE and go for M.Tech in IITs and NITs. Students in upper branches ( like CSE, CSE AIML, ECE ) are hardworking. So they are able to eventually land at a place where there future is secured. My plan is to prepare for CAT Exams and go for an MBA. ( Not Sure about it )
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is very affordable. Each Semester costs 37980 Rupees. Hostel fees is 2000 Rs per Semester. Mess Fee is 16000 Per Semester with further holiday's deductions. College will also further help you avail various scholarships like NSP or get an education loan from the college SBI branch. Campus jobs are not that good but few students get placed. Most students get their jobs off-campus. Many also prepare for further studies through exams like GATE.
Campus Life
College Annual Fest - GOONJ ( in Even Sem ) CollegeTech Fest - Spandan ( in Odd Sem ) All Engineering Books are that you'll need in your course are available in the library. The Library is not very updated. There are very few non-engineering related books and hardly any non-fiction or fiction. Classrooms are all quite good. Plenty of space. All amenities available to provide you best learning experience. There are a lot of clubs active in the college. Literary & Debate, Abhivyakti, Cultural Club, X's Band, Robotics Club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are as you would expect in a Tier 3 Government College. Lighting facilities are good but the hostels are in worn-out conditions. Bathrooms and Toilets are also not very clean. In first two years, you have to share your room with 2 others. From third year onwards, you share your room with 1 other person. But you'll have a lot of fun in the hostels. Mess Meal is also not very good but you'll adjust with time. Its doesn't always tastes like un-eatable. Registration Process for hostels is easy, just make the payment at the website portal, give them the receipt, and you'll be allotted the room. You can also take a room at Pauri and commute daily to college. ( city bus takes 30 minutes )
Admission
Admission to my College GBPEC, Pauri Garhwal, a Uttarakhand state govt. Institution, follows a structured process. Eligibility requires successful completion of the 12th grade or its equivalent. Additionally, aspirants must sit for the JEE MAINS exam. After meeting these criteria, applicants proceed to the state counselling organized by the Uttarakhand Technical University ( UTU ). Here, candidates are required to register and participate in multiple counselling rounds. During registration, they submit a priority list indicating their preferred college and course choices. Admission to GBPEC is based on the candidate's JEE exam rank and their preferences listing during counselling. The University allocates seats according to the merit category ranks obtained in JEE and the choices listed by the candidates during counselling rounds.
