Course Curriculum Overview
I chose civil engineering as I was targeting for government sectors and civil branch have some fair opportunities that I can use to get one.GBPIET has 1:32 student to faculty ratio which is not something we seek but it is manageable. Most of the faculties are well qualified and come from an esteemed university like IIT's etc.In every 2 and half month each department conduct class test and at the end of semester practical and final exam happens.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is the best part of this college as it is very less with respect to others and from past 3 year it only hiked by ?2000.Student also get scholarship through Nsp portal and merit scholarship by doing good in academics.In cs and ece college placement is good and student can Target placement too.
Campus Life
Socially college is quite good but there is a lack of exposure in terms of fest and events.Generally we have only 2 fest one for technical and for cultural and we have a mega event which happens once a year you can call it an annual function
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is the worst part of my college as the quality of food is not good and hostel staff is also ignorant.But room are quiet good and spacious .In each room atleat 3 student stays and each student got his table and almirah. To register hostel college provides a fees link after registration which you have to fill and show the fees slip at the time of sem starting. Room can also be rented in local areas but it's on luck whether someone can find it accordingly his status and near the college.
Admission
To get admitted in GBPIET you have to give JEE exam and for particular branch you have to clear the eligibility criteria (rank and marks in jee),after clearing cutoff you have to fill counselling form through utu and select respective branches in descending order of choice ,fees of application or counselling form will be ?2000 and usually this counseling process often start after 1 month prior to jee exam result declaration .Those who have caste certificate and anykind of reservation can get extra benefits as seats are reserved for St/sc/obc/women categories.This process of admission took about 2 to 3 month time from 1 St counselling to spot counselling.
