Course Curriculum Overview

I have choosen this course because u can appear for both software and hardware placements. For every 10 students there will be one teacher available here. All the teachers have completed their PHD ofc some of them have done their btech in many iits..It's completely a good college. Teachers can deliver and explain the topic well..The sem exams generally have a gap of 4 months and it will be very difficult to prepare and solve the semester papers here

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

It's around 9.3 lakhs for a complete 4 year btech student including hostel fees who parents income is greater than 5 lakhs For scholarship, Sc St pwd students get full institute fee waiver For general OBC students whose income is above 1 and less than 5 lakhs get 2/3rd remission from the institute fee For general OBC students whose income is less than 1 lakh shall get complete fee remission U can apply for FFE or Reliance scholarship for additional remission of fees

Campus Life

Annual fest is ragam and tech fest is tatva There are all books and journals available in the central library The classroom is packed with speakers and projector with completely comfortable benches Sports here are really good and u will get credits for that even. Every year there will be a sports day and there is a football ground and a cricket stadium Cricket club and levyug

Admission

First of all u need to take coaching in a seperate institute for this exam which is called as Joint Entrance Exam in India.After performing well in college exams u have to apply for the final main exam through the given portal by NTA.Then accordingly u need to go to the center and write the exam..According to your exams for 300 u will be given a percentile by NTA..Then u need to apply for JOSAA counselling by the desired score u got in the entrance exam(Note that there are 2 attempts in an academic year and general cutoff is around 90 percentile) Then u need to fill ur choice of institutions u want to join finally there will be 6 rounds in this counselling in which seats are allocated according to the percentile u got.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
