Remarks

Every college has good and bad aspect but I think that I am pretty much satisfied with my college. One thing that I'd like to say, is that, the college shouldn't start from 8 am as it is very early and it becomes difficult to come out of home this early morning in the winter season.

Entrance Preview

I did not write any entrance exam because PGDAV is a government college, which comes under Delhi University. Delhi University takes in students on the basis of merit so I got admission here, on the basis my class 12th marks. There was no interview process followed to take admission here. I am currently doing BA (hons) in Sanskrit and I chose this course because of its importance and its value in the coming years when everyone is forgetting this language.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I personally do not like the course structure at all and I feel that a lot of things are missing. I have no idea if there are any research initiatives being conducted in our college. I didn't have any elective option in my first year.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea about the internships if our college provides any. I am right now in my second year so as of now, there is no need for me to do any internship. Some teachers of mine suggested that we can try our hands at some small schools or maybe give tutions to school going children for sanskrit when we are free.

Placement Experience

2

I have no idea of the placement of the students in my department. I don't think it would be that good because the course that I have chosen is not that famous these days. Some seniors of mine are now doing their MA so I could not get any answer from them too. They say, that one should do MA also, for good placements. I don't know about the companies that visit for placements of other departments.

College Events

4

Our annual college fest, Aaghaz is very great. It is organized at a big level and college authorities contribute a lot to organizing these events. Other then that, departmental fests are organized time to time on the campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My fee was around Rs. 13000 in the 1st year and right now, in my second year, the fee is around Rs. 12300. So, I think that the fee is quite affordable. My fee would be somewhat same in my third year so all in all, my studies would be finished in Rs. 35000 and that's justified.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee concessions are provided to the students but I don't know on what basis. Maybe there is some Delhi University's central scholarship scheme that applies to all the colleges. I did not avail any fee concession because the fee is quite affordable for me. The college doesn't help in getting loans and so, students have to arrange for the financial help, themselves.

Campus Life

2.5

I am personally inclined towards music but I did participate in the Navrang- The dramatics society event and I enjoyed it a lot. There are a lot of activities that go on simultaneously in the college. I am active in the Music Society of the college and I have explored myself a lot. The college provides all the necessities for the college societies.

Hostel Facilities

3

I do not live in the hostel as my home is near the college. Some of my friends live in the PGs near the college and they are pretty much satisfied by the facilities they get in the PGs. I never asked about their rent of the PGs so I have no idea.

Alumni/Alumna

I don't know if there is any platform for student-alumni interaction because I haven't attended any. I personally interact a lot with my seniors and they are very helpful. They tell us what is right and what is wrong and what should one concentrate on.

Exam Structure

The exam culture here is very cool. Exams aren't that frequent, as we have to give exams, only twice in one semester. First are mid-semester exams which are usually conducted in the month of September and March, and then there are end-semester exams which are conducted in the month of December and May. I do not feel tired.

Faculty

2.5

Our faculty is very experienced and they do their profession very well. They aren't that interactive but are not that boring either. The standard of teaching is overall fine.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
