Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum comprises a major and minor subject, supplemented by various electives such as VAC, SEC, AECC, and GE. Personally, I chose this course due to its comprehensive structure, offering a balanced blend of major and minor subjects along with diverse electives. The faculty-to-student ratio is reasonable, fostering an interactive learning environment. The faculty members are well-qualified, and their teaching methods are generally commendable. Term exams occur every six months, providing a timely assessment of the curriculum. The difficulty level is moderate, and passing the exams is achievable with dedicated effort. Overall, the course structure, faculty quality, and exam schedule contribute to a satisfactory academic experience.

Internships Opportunities

3

It's noteworthy that while the highest stipend for summer placements in 2021 saw a slight decrease of about 3% compared to 2020, the average stipend experienced a more significant decline of almost 11%. Despite this, the total number of recruiters witnessed a remarkable 200% increase from the previous year. Top companies such as DE Shaw & Co., Deloitte, Mother Dairy & Co., Capline, and PwC participated in the placements, reflecting the diverse sectors covered. Over 500 students actively participated in the placements drive, securing positions across various fields, including Finance & Consulting, Education, IT, Media & Entertainment, Digital Marketing, and Hospitality. This diversity highlights the broad spectrum of opportunities available for students at Ramjas College.

Placement Experience

3

Ramjas College witnessed a positive trend in placements in 2021, with the average package reaching 5.9 LPA, showcasing a notable increase of over 7% compared to the previous year. The highest package offered was 19.25 LPA, with a marginal 1% decline from the previous year. The total number of students participating in placements increased by 11%, and the number of placement offers rose significantly by 37% in 2021. Summer placements also saw growth, with the total number of recruiters increasing by an impressive 200% compared to 2020. However, the highest stipend for summer placements experienced a slight decrease of about 3%, and the average stipend decreased by almost 11% in 2021. While these statistics indicate a thriving placement scenario, if campus placement is not an option, students can focus on enhancing their employability through internships, skill development programs, or pursuing higher education. After completing the degree, my plans involve exploring job opportunities

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is relatively affordable, with an annual cost of 14k. The university and the college offer numerous scholarships, providing financial assistance to eligible students. Although I didn't secure a campus job with a stipend yet, there are opportunities available for students seeking part-time employment. The university's scholarship programs, as well as those specific to the college, present valuable options for offsetting costs. It's worth noting that the fees hike policy is not significant, ensuring a stable financial commitment throughout the course. Overall, the combination of reasonable fees, scholarships, and potential campus jobs contributes to a supportive financial environment for students.

Campus Life

3.5

Life on campus is vibrant, featuring a rich social life and diverse extracurricular activities. The annual fest, often held in March, brings the campus community together, providing a platform for cultural exchange and celebration. Additionally, the tech fest, typically conducted in November, showcases innovation and technological prowess. The library is well-equipped with a wide array of books and journals, fostering academic excellence. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, facilitating a conducive learning environment. The campus promotes a healthy balance between academics and recreation. Various sports and extracurricular activities cater to different interests, encouraging students to participate actively. There are social groups, clubs, and student-run websites that foster a sense of community and facilitate interaction among students. These platforms contribute significantly to the overall campus experience, creating a well-rounded and engaging atmosphere for personal

Admission

I underwent the CUET entrance exam as part of the admission process. Initially, I had to fill out the application form, which was available online around June-July, accompanied by an application fee of 1400. The eligibility criteria were primarily based on the exam performance. Once the exam was completed, the next step involved selecting preferences for both college and course. The system then automatically generated a combination based on my exam scores, determining the optimal match. In terms of reservation benefits, I didn't avail any, so I can't provide specific details on that aspect. Overall, the process was streamlined, with the automated allocation system easing the selection burden. However, improvements could be made in providing more detailed information on reservation benefits for those eligible.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
