Remarks

Up to now I didn't felt anything bad about the campus except regarding placements of core branches like civil and civil in their fields

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE Mains and then Advanced. Josaa allocation. There is no interview. The course I have chosen is out my interest. I love to do designing buildings etc...

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose civil engineering. We have good no. of labs. There many research activities taken by institute students and professors.

Internships Opportunities

College provides intern opportunity after 2nd year and those who want to do research intern they can collaborate with various professors inside and outside the campus.

Placement Experience

Placement of the campus are good. In my department there are less chances of being placed in field but we have good no. of IT companies during placement. In my department L&T and other construction companies

College Events

Technical fest my campus: Techniche Cultural fest of the campus: Alcheringa Entrepreneur summit of the campus: Udgam Sports league of the campus: Spirit Alcheringa is the 2nd largest cultural fest and it footfall will be 80000-100000. For Techniche footfall will be 30000-45000,for Udgam which is started just few years back it's footfall around 10000

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tution fee:. 100000 Hostel fee and mess fee around 25000 per semester which includes hospital insurance and gymkhana fee and all

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarship for Sc/St and obc students whose annual income less than 500000 in the name of merit cum means. They should some cpi requirement. For every topper of the department will awarded with another scholarship IMS

Campus Life

We have good no. of clubs with proper infrastructure related to cultural, technical, consulting, finance, entrepreneur. Where students do practice for cultural events and projects in technical clubs. Students come up with good ideas to implement like startups, case studies, B plans etc...

Hostel Facilities

Single and spacious rooms with Ethernet. Each have its own mess and food quality is good and there will regular feedback session on food and maintenance of the hostel

Alumni/Alumna

We have special team consisting of students and alumni forming body called SAIL which is very active and invites alumni for formal and informal interaction with students.

All are qualified and very interactive their standard of teaching just awesome. They interactive and make everything clear about what they taught

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I chose IIT Guwahati because of a strong IIT brand , excellent placements and comparetively lower fees. Compare to other IIT's it provied good campus expreience and less academic pressure. Compare to other NIT's , private colleges ,IIT Guwahati stands out in every fields. If one coudn't make it too higher IIT's it's because of not elegible after the JEE advanced rank as competition is very intense. I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
