Course Curriculum Overview

3

I have a great interest in Accounting therefore I chose this course. The overall course and curriculum is very good. The student to faculty ratio is 150 to 1 or 70 to 1 for specialised classes. The qualification and teaching of the faculty is very good at least for the first year. Many seniors complain that the quality reduces by each year. The term exam are conducted twice a year and were relatively easy to pass.

Placement Experience

4.5

Since I'm a first year, I don't know much about the placements but I heard that our college is one of the best colleges for placement in Pune. This year a student got placed with an average salary of 5 LPA. The percentage of students placed is upto 15%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the course is not high at the same time not low. It is affordable for a middle class family. Sadly there are only scholarships for native students and none for NRIs. I hope to see scholarships for non native students in the future.

Campus Life

2.5

The infrastructure of the college is very small. There is only one building and and a canteen making it look like a school. The library is good since it has a variety of books and a reading hall. The biggest event of our college is Symagine conducted in the second week of January. The class rooms are small but they have smart boards.

Admission

There was no entrance exam for my category which is NRI. The admission process was purely based on merit and went smoothly. All the information will be mentioned in the site during the process. Improvements: This year the cut off was very low therefore it lost its quality, therefore I hope they keep the standard. The information relating to the hostel admission was not given properly, due to which I couldn't get the hostel.

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
