Course Curriculum Overview

This year onwards the curriculum of nit calicut changed. And the branch change option was also canceled in this college. The Faculities are well educated like they completed their education from the top most IITs .

All type of companies offers the intership program. Companies like Bajaj offers the internships. To get the internship all should create their projects. The companies will offer intarnship from third year onwards .

Placements of nit calicut are excellent. All companies are visiting for Placements like Google, Microsoft, Goldmedal sarks, Bajaj, samsung etc. The Placement rate of this college is around 98% for CSE department and for ECE the Placements percentage is approx 90% and for other branches it is good like more than 70%. After getting the job I will go for a best job. The highest package of this college is 47 lpa and average is 14lpa

For Kerala sc /st candidates, the egrantz scholarship is available. NIT Calicut offers many scholarships based on their performance like their progress and their rank list. NIT Calicut offer many jobs for all branches

Campus Life

The life is very good at NIT calicut. The name of tech fest in NIT calicut is TATHVA and the name of cultural fest is RAGAM. This year TATHVA will be their on January itself but before this year it will be conducted on october. The RAGAM will be their on April.All types of clubs are their like cultural and technical. In the library many books are available.All sports are played in this college.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are fine.For first year students A and B hostels are their. In both the hostels 4 seater rooms are available. Mess food also fine but in the food more south indian food will be there.The registration process is online for hostels through nit calicut hostel app. Rooms in these hostels are some what small.

Admission

Admission of this college is based on the JEE mains exam. To get the Admission in this college everyone should clear the JEE entrance exam. Admission process was fine. The exam is conducted by NTA.After the JEE Main results are declared, eligible candidates need to register on the JoSAA website (josaa.nic.in) and fill in their preferred college choices, including NIT Calicut. Seat allotment will be based on JEE rank and the AIR . Josaa will conduct 6 rounds after that Csab will conduct 2 round.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
