Me at IIT ROORKEE

I chose metallurgy course because I have interest in metallurgy and I wanted to come to IIT ROORKEE and it was only option for me at my rank. The faculty Student ratio is good here On an average there are 12 faculties assigned per 80 students including the teaching Assistants. The faculties here are well qualified most of them have done their Phd and higher studies from abroad and many of the teaching assistants have pursued their studies from the Premier institutes of our country that are IITs. The exams conducted here are well organized and everything is defined before the start of the semester and the exams were not very diificult to pass . If you want to fail then you will have to miss all classes and do not submit any assignment and don't study a word. hahaha. I just want to tell if you study you will have good grades. For the smooth conduct I thank our coordinators and deans.

There are many companies which offer placements in IIT Roorkee . For example microsoft Meta Deloitte Netflix Google Amazon Infosys and many more reputed companies eithter be it in sector of tech or finance. There are multiple opportunitues offered to students. The internship opportunities for students is good here , one can go to research to other countries also.

The fees for general category is very high , since this is a government owned institute then the fees must be a little low as compared to paying 3 lakhs per annum. If you want to study you can take student loans also at lower interest rates and pay back once you gwt into job. There are many scholarships offered for students here , most famous one is INSPIRE scholarship where one gets 80k INR annually . here is the website if you want to register onlline-inspire.gov.in , few got SHE scholarship , there is scholarship offered by Tata institues as well.

The annual cultural fest is Thomso and it is conducted in October , the campus becomes a hub for 4k-5k students for enjoying three full days with pro nites at night and DJ dance as well. Next comes the techfest that is Cognizance that is conducted every year in the month of March and it is the Asia's second largest tech fest. There are various techniacl events going all around the campus with pro-nites. We have a big library which has millions of books and there is Wi-fi connection across the campus, in the library as well for the benefit of students, there are tables in the library where you can study and computers also which you can use. Classes are well packed with Internet connection and a big screen which can be used by the professors for teaching. There are many technical , cultural as well as social clubs . The clubs are : programming and algorithm , Infosec : cybersecurity , etc. Cult clubs : Dance, Music section, Fine arts. . Social clubs : NSS,UBA,CRY,etc. and many more.

The rooms are in good condition . We are provided one bed and a almirah with two students in a single room. The washrooms are collectively for a group of students. The mess here is certified No.1 by FSSAI, and the quality of food is descent . We have special dinner once a month with a lot varities , mouth watering dishes. The registration for hostel and mess is done together . It happens on the same day as the student registration in college.

To be eligible for the course one should clear the JEE ADVANCED cutoff generally for IITs your rank must lie within 10k for general category. The application for JEE Advanced can be found on the given website jeeadv.ac.in , where you must have cleared JEE Mains exam first. The application fees is 2900 INR for general and OBC category , and the application date will be announced on their website as mentioned above. After all this , if you cleared the JEE advanced examination then you can register for the admission and registration at their website for example in my case it was iitr.ac.in I would like if the admission to IIT should be conducted in registered slots .
