Remarks
Interaction with seniors was the best part in my college life. They were the constant support all through. Contrary to the popular belief that seniors are to be scared, this college helped me to find friends and mentors in them.
Entrance Preview
I had to write the Joint Entrance Examination, which is considered one of the toughest entrance examinations in the country. There was no interview process but were 2 stages of this exam, JEE Mains and Advanced.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was a bit disappointed in this regard. The course structure was quite old fashioned and redundant. Quite little focus was placed on practical learning. And very few people opt for research electives.
Internships Opportunities
Yeah, but it is rare. It varies.In 3rd yr, you get a chance to sit for on-campus internships. But a very less percentage of students grab an intern.
Placement Experience
In core, the number of offers were meager and the package was also low. But in non-core, the scenario was a lot better. The average package was around 7 lakhs and around 70% of students were placed on-campus.
College Events
The college hosts Thomso- an annual cultural fest which is one of the biggest fests in the country. It saw a footfall of around 2 lakh last year. There is also an annual technical festival Cognizance which is also quite good.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The semester fees were quite high for a general category candidate. 2 lakhs per semester couldn't exactly be called affordable.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yeah, but it was centrally aided. It included remitting 2/3rd of the semester fees for students whose annual family income is less than 5 lakhs.
Campus Life
The college has a lot of opportunities in terms of extracurriculars. Starting from dance and music to electronics and astronomy, there is a wide set of activities that a student can indulge in. Here, you get an opportunity to get involved in various productive things to utilize your free time.
Hostel Facilities
I was residing in a hostel. The rooms were on sharing basis for 2 years then we were allotted personal rooms. The food was okay.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a need for a lot of improvement in this respect. There is negligible alumni connect.
Exam Structure
No, the schedule was quite chill and with enough time dedicated towards academics, a student could easily get through.
Faculty
I suppose the faculty are qualified but their teaching methods are old and they hardly care about the students. They just consider it their duty to complete the syllabus rather than focusing on the fact that students matter more.
