Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is great. From 2022 batch, the curriculum has been revised and has improved significantly. The faculty members are great and helpful. All are PhD holders from different universities across India.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies that offered internships were Bank of New York (BNY Mellon), Microsoft India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), SAP Labs, Probo, EdCil, Cvent, Anand Group, Competishun, Tetrahedron, and many more.

Placement Experience

4

As this is a reputed NIT, placements tend to be good Every year. Last year, the average placement for CS & IT was 22 Lpa approx(it is ctc) and median was approx 18 for CS & IT. The data is for the 2023 batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees have been stable due to being a NIT. Besides you get a 2/3rd fee waiver in tuition fees if your family income is between 1 lpa to 5lpa. And full tuition fee waiver if income is less than 1lpa. Besides, if you are a SC/ST, you will get a full tuition fee waiver.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is good. NIT Kurukshetra is not in a metro city which is the con. Also, the NIT is situated 3-4 km from the city, so auto charges are high for a single person( if you are in a group, it is a different story). But apart from that, overall campus life is great, we have fests, (tech, cultural, athletic meets) and so on. You are gonna enjoy your campus life here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are great. Mess food Depends on the Hostel. First-year boys have to reside in 3 seater rooms (in some cases it could be 4 seater). From 2nd year onwards, you will get a 1 seater room H7 & H8 has the best food among boys Hostel and H10's food is not that great. Also, the mess charges depend on the Hostel (as they depend on the menu, decided by the mess committee). You have to give misc charges of 1000-1800 and per day diet charges will be between 70-110/day (depending on the Hostel).

Admission

NIT Kurukshetra is one of the prestigious 23 NITs of the country. To get admission into it, you have to give JEE Mains. I got around 99.1 percentile and cut off for general category was around 9800 something rank for IT branch. To give JEE Mains, one has to fill the application form on NTA's website (just google nta for it). And then you are alloted an exam center where you have to physically, go to give your exam. And since, NIT is a government institution, one can avail of reservation benefit. 20% seats are reserved for females and 50% of total Seats are available for Home state quota and other for outside state quota. Besides that, in all these quotas, you have the division based on OBC, SC/ST, EWS and General.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics

Remarks:

I am a Delhite and my college is on outskirts of Delhi and also i being residing near du north campus used to think i will enjoy the same college life. but being into a professional (b.tech) course gave me a different view of college and its life. i came to know how to lead a professional ethic life, learnt some good meaningful things.college management is getting strict day by day for laws against students but the other tasks like things that need to be get done from peon are not getting done. ac's dont work even after complaints. in total the college needs a great improvement else it will keep running the business with no fruits.
