- The food in almost all mess is not to my likability.Despite many complaints there's no improvement
- The adminstration is not very supportive to the student body when there are issues on cmapus
- The campus doesnot have any resources to support mental health of students
Course Curriculum Overview
To be honest i chose this course because of the rank I got.Neverthless ECE is a really interesting course to pursue if you are a btech student.Usually a class has 50 students at most and one faculty member for each course.Moreover each faculty has support staff who could be phd students.All faculty are PhD holders and have really good knowledge though some faculty members are not upto the mark.We have a mid-sem and end-sem examination every semester.
Internships Opportunities
Over 400 companies come to NITC to offer internships to students.However the number of students recieving interns is relatively low.Few notable companies are Texas Instruments google microsoft american express P&G etc.
Placement Experience
NITC has a very good placement drive.Infact students all over the country strive to study here.A third year student is eligible for internships while final year is eligible for placements.ECE deparrment highest package is around 42 lpa while avg package is 16 lpa which in itslef is very high.Last 96% percent students got placed from ECED.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure varies according to the annual income and also the caste of the student.For a general student whose family income is over 500000 per annum has to pay around 75000 course fee per semester.The hostel fees is 33000 for everyone irrespective of your family income.I wasnt able to avail any scholarships as my family income was over 5 lakh.
Campus Life
We have two fests every year.TATHVA the tech fest which is in october usually and RAGAM the cultural fest taking place in match.Tha NALANADA library is huge facility to support students where almost all kinds of books are avaliable and they can be borrowed.Here at NIT Calicut sports and extra curriculars are given very high importance.A student has liberty to join any social,cultural or techical club through a interview process.
Hostel Facilities
The first year hostels are not up to the mark but for the others it's really good.Mess quality is good but for students who are from other states, they have to adjust for as they may not find it to their taste.The registration for hostels and mess is completely through NITC hostels app which is so convenient.
Admission
I got admission at NIT calicut through JEE mains.The application for this exam is avaliable at NTA(national testing agency) official website.I have received admission in general quota and my rank at that time was 8400 and percentile was 99.08.The rank and qualifying percentile could vary with reservation benefits.
