Likes

Good atmosphere and pleasant climate in the campus. Greenery in the campus.
Best campus life with very good fests and events. Well organisation of events.
Library is very good and very well equipped labs with good faculty.

Dislikes

The infrastructure in the campus should be improved .
The hostel amenities should be improved providing wifi and hot water.
Campus transportation should be improved and availability of canteens also should be improved

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this cource according to my score in jee . The faculty here are very well trained and PhD scholarship. The teaching methods of the faculty are very effective and gives us an insight clarification about the course. There are one mid semester exams and one end semester exams for each semester.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for a particular person depends upon the category he falls and the financial background of the person. We can apply for different scholarship from the campus and the administration also helps in it. The cost of study is not so high . They give quality education. There is no fee for a person if his annual income is less than one lakh. Need to pay 2/3 of total fee if income is in between 1-5 lakhs.

Campus Life

The campus life is very good. There are two annual fests namely tathva and ragam. Tathva is annual technical fest usually held in the month of October and ragam annual cultural fest held in the month of March. There are around 1.5+lakhs books in the college library. The classrooms are also well furnished with wifi and everything. Our college administration also takes good care in sports and extracurricular activities. There are playgrounds for each specific sport. There are around 15 clubs in the campus which are run by students.

Admission

The admission to this college requires the student to qualify in jee mains examination with a very good scor. We can find the application form from jossaa website. Reservation is also applicable to the students according to the category they come from and their physical disabilities. The admission process is very easy and hustle free.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
