Likes

Here the climate is very good and peaceful.
All the facilities are good like library, computer centre, and playgrounds.
Here all the people from different states are available so we can learn their culture and different things to live in life

Dislikes

Here the distance from hostel to classes are little bit far. sometimes we are late to classes.
During the summer season water shortage will be there.
Here that are charging little bit more money I think they should think about this.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this college because it is one of the college in top 5 NITs. average package also high. Very good and experienced faculty. Most of the faculty having doctorate. In this college exams are very strict and hard. But you can pass in every subject.

In the 2nd year ending the companies like Facebook tech Mahindra will come to give the internship opportunities. Here maximum skills will be developed. For their future purposes. Many innovative projects are done by the students. To prove themselves

Placement Experience

From 5th semister students are eligible for internship. And from 7th semister they eligible for campus placements. Here In this college highest package is 60lpa. Companies like Mahindra, Microsoft, Wipro, paytm, Dell and tata..etc 90 percent students will be placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here for every semister they will charge 15000 to 27000 for me. For hostel and mess they will charge 30000 per sem. Scholarship also available in this college you can apply for NSP and FFE and other scholarships.

Campus Life

Every year in March we celebrate Raagam fest. And in September we celebrate technical fest called thatva. In library more than 5000 books are available. In classes projectors and Mike system also there. We have different social and technical clubs like Team unwired, danza,club Mathematica....etc.

Hostel Facilities

In the hostel you will be provided by study table and two chairs along with cots . Room will be shared by 2 persons. For mess you should select your mess in nitc hostels app. Meal quality will be ok. Sometimes it will be good.

Hostel Fee: INR 15000 per year

Admission

For this college entrance exam is there called JEE MAINS according to your score and which branch you selected based on this they will give you admission. jee exam will be conducted by NTA. you have to apply the application in NTA website. application fee also there. reservation also there.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
