Likes

Here the climate and structure of campus was good.
I like library and computer centre in this college.
I like the faculty because they are experienced and talented.

Dislikes

Here they are charging little bit high fee. They have to think about this issue.
Some buildings are old they have to renovate.
The distance from hostels to classes are little bit far. Although busses are available.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this because it was one of the colleges in the top 5 NITs. The average package is also high. The faculty are very good and experienced. Most of them have doctorates. Here exams are very strict and hard. But you can manage to pass all the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Students can apply for internships after 2nd year. Maximum software companies will come and they will teach the skills about coding. Few people will come up with innovative ideas and new startups. Companies like Tech Mahindra Dell, etc. will come.

Placement Experience

From 5th semister you are eligible for internships. And from 7th semister you are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Microsoft, Dell, Wipro, Paytm, and tech Mahindra are coming to take interview. Maximum 90 percentage of students will get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here if you don't have a reservation you have to pay 250000 per year. If you have a reservation you feel will be reduced. Studing experience was completely different. Here scholarships are also available like NSP and FFE.

Campus Life

The cultural fest was Raagam and the technical fest was Thatva. There are very big fests in South India. Very big library with more than 5000 books. Classrooms are large and available with a projector and Mike facilities. Team unwired Danza, etc. clubs are there.

Hostel Facilities

Each room is shared by 2 people. And you will get a study table and chairs. These hostels are newly constructed. Looks good. You can choose your mess in the NITC hostel's app. The mess will be good. daily non-veg will be available.

Hostel Fee: INR 15000 per year

Admission

For this college entrance exam is there it is called JEE MAINS. According that jee score and your interest they will give you a seat. You can apply jee application in the NTA website. Reservation is also available.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
