Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the btech in civil engineering because I had a passion of construction of buildings. And about faculty they are very good with students and they will help us in each and every aspect. Our faculty is mostly from PhD doctorates . And there are 2 semesters in a year .

From 6th semester students become eligible for placements .Other companies that visit NIT Calicut include: D. E. Shaw, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, TI, Qualcomm, Oracle, Cisco, Atlassian, SAP Labs. In 2023, the average salary package offered by top companies was INR 14.29 LPA, with a highest package of INR 47 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

In our college 70000/- per semister and 43000/- for hostel and mess per each semester. We can apply for many scholarships like FFE and NSP . and college is reducing fees for EWS category students. In semister fees and hostel fees .

Campus Life

There many clubs in NITC Like RIG , ADVENTURE CLUB , ETC and there are many programing commetes like pc and gaming pc and campus is providing many sports facilities. And it is conducting inter nit games like Koko , kabaddi, cricket, etc .

Hostel Facilities

In our room they are providing one fan and one cupboard and one vertical mirror and 2 beds and one studying table . We have to stay 2 students for one room . And food is also not good in our hostel and prices is also to heigh and hostel fee is also not affordable for everyone .

Hostel Fee: INR 45000 per year

Admission

Firstly we have to qualify the jee mains exam. My intermediate college tells me about this exam I prepared for this exam with the help my intermediate college and I found all the application details in online itself. And I didn't have any reservation benifits because I am a general category student.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
