Course Curriculum Overview

I choose ECE, because I was interested.Faculty student ratio is 1:50. Teaching is good.Teaching method should be improved, more intresting so that students can enjoy while studying.Exams conduction was on time.Difficulty level was moderate.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies came for internship like Goldman sacs,qualcom.some of them offered PPO. Stipends were like 30k,40k something like that.I didn't get but some of my friends got them.iam happy for them. But now companies are not recruiting.

Placement Experience

From 7th students are eligible for Full time placements.Many companies have visited.Highest package is 32.average is 9 as of now.Only 80 are placed among 200 as of now.percentage is very low compared to previous years.Its very sad that we are not getting opportunities and companies are not hiring massively.my plans after this is trying for government jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure was regarding our income for OBC and open category students. OBC does not have seperate scholarship.Job opportunities are low as of now due to recession.Companies are not recruiting massively.

Campus Life

Ragam is cultural fest and tathva is technical fest.Fests are good and popular. Library is open always and books are available.Classrooms are neat and tidy. There are special grounds for sports.Inter NIT and inter branch are conducted.Clubs are DND.

Hostel Facilities

In Hostel room a bed,table and cupboard is provided.Rooms are okay.Food is not good.Kerala style food cannot be eaten by Andra and Telangana people.Hostel fee and mess fee are seperate.Hostel fee is 2000 ,they have increased it initially it was only 1500 like that.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

Admission process was good ,I got into college through jee main rank of 3313 under OBC category.My percentile was 98.67, Reservation benefits regarding fee was low for OBC ,only income certificate is required.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
