Remarks

If you want immediate placement in core mechanical industry then It is average college for mechanical engineering students. But if you want to go for higher studies then it may be the best college as scoring is easy if you study well.

Entrance Preview

JEE SET- Symbiosis Entrance Test For our batch, there was no entrance exam. We directly got admission on the basis of our final year (diploma) marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

They are way behind other autonomous colleges like COEP, VIT, VJTI, Sardar Patel. But ahead of Pune and Mumbai, Pacific, University in case of the curriculum. They need to improve there syllabus and labs according to the current structure of other international universities especially compared to German. Now they have a really good course structure if compared to other universities, but it's outdated for an autonomous college. The labs also need to be updated. I will give them 7 out of 10 for course structure.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, there is a semester-long internship for 6 months to every student. It is really helpful to learn the exact working of an industry. And few times the internship is also converted into a full-time job. 90% Mechanical companies don't offer any stipend. Other guys get stipend ranging from Rs.10000/- to 30000/- per month.}

Placement Experience

3

They try there level best for placements. Companies like IBM, TCS, Dell, etc come for placements of Computer and IT students. But there is a big issue for Mechanical and Civil students. Minimum package is around 3LPA for 90% of students who get placed.

College Events

3.5

REVERB is the annual fest of the college in which various cultural and other events are organized. Every department has there owned technical event. There are also few events which are now organized by college for students like 6 sigma course, DBM, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is too expensive if compared to other colleges in Maharashtra. It is almost double what others are charging. Current fees are Rs. 235000/- (Rs.2.35LPA) (revised every year). It increases by 5% every year. This should be kept in mind at the time of admission as they do not provide any concession in fees as other colleges do like EBC, caste-based reservation, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no caste basis reservation system, so no scholarship is provided. There are other scholarships like sports, academic, etc but I don't know the criteria. Yes loan facility is offered by the college with the help of few banks.

Hostel Facilities

4

Both are way better than what others are providing. They provide all type of hostel facilities like sharing or private room but fees may carry according to that. Or you can opt for private flats or PGs nearby. The basic fees of hostel is around Rs.125000/-(Rs.1.25 LPA) but you need to check the current one which includes breakfast,

Alumni/Alumna

They have just started a new program for alumni to get connected with all of them. You can expect a great help from your senior students, especially in extracurricular activities.

Admission

For our batch there was no entrance exam. We directly got admission on the basis of our final year (diploma) marks. But i guess, now they have there entrance for lateral entry students which is already there for first year students (SET). Generally the admission notification is released in start of April. We have to register over there online.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty members are really highly educated. Most of them are at least M.Tech. holders if not Ph.D. from a reputed college like IITs or NIT. But the main issue with most of them is they have really less exposure to the industry. Only a few of them have really worked in the industry for a long time like 10 to 15 years.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
