Course Curriculum Overview
The course has been structured brilliantly. The first two semesters cover ancient history, the third and fourth semesters cover medieval history while the last two is for modern history. The faculty members are well qualified and are extremely helpful to the students. Briefly, every topic for the Masters course get taught. The exams are conducted timely and are held in their own campus. The student to faculty ratio is not very impressive as the students outnumber the professors 60 to 1.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the first year is 7200 while the fees for the next two years is 6500. The fees is collected at the beginning of the first, third and fifth semester. There are no campus placements for this course nor any internships. A number of scholarships are available for students who belong SC/ST/OBC category, students who are top scorers for the current academic year as well as for Kashmiri students.
Campus Life
The campus has a vibrant life all over the institution. People from all backgrounds come together here. From drama, poetry, sports, literary, to music, Jamia offers a variety of clubs all year round. A number of fests and other celebrations are held frequently.
Admission
The admission process was very convenient. Jamia Millia Islamia offers 50% reservation for Muslim students and I was qualified through that reservation. Jamia holds its entrance exam through CUET for this course and the cutoff ranges from 55-60 for general category while the reservation categories follow closely behind.
Other Applied Colleges
Aligarh Muslim University - [AMU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (History)
I found the better faculty in Jamia Millia Islamia. One more reason is that Jamia Millia Islamia is in Delhi.
