Honestly speaking I was interested for NIT Silchar due to its placement packages it provides which is good, as I was able to grab on to Microsoft from this college so I don't think I can get anything more out of this college, so it was overall great experience from the college. I did not apply to this college directly. I got admission through JoSAA counselling based on my JEE Main rank. During the counselling process, I filled my choices carefully, and this college was among my preferred options. I chose this college mainly because of its good campus infrastructure, strong NIRF ranking, and consistent placement records. Compared to other colleges available at my rank, this institute offered a better balance of academics, facilities, and career opportunities. The faculty quality, alumni network, and overall academic environment were also important factors in my decision. I had applied for other colleges through the same JoSAA counselling process, but either the cut-off was higher for my preferred branches or the colleges did not match my expectations in terms of campus life and placements. In jee mains examination I got 92 percentile and my obc rank was 22000 and my general rank was around 60000 . So I was not able to get selected in other better NITs for my BTech course . As top colleges requires top 1 percent students of jee mains and in jee advanced my score was not good to get any IITs so as I my home state is Assam and for home State quota and female students NIT Silchar have quota so I easily got Electronics and Communication Engineering branch in this college. I applied for NIT Trichy ,NIT karnataka and NIT Durgapur also and also applied for IIIT s but didn't get any of them . In my college NIT Silchar ,the admission process completes by jossa and CSAB . After jee mains result students who got qualified are eligible to participate in Jossa counselling and then according to each years score jossa does the process of giving the selected branch and college among the choices students registered. I get this college after qualifying jee mains exam through josaa counselling. I want NIT Durgapur but I miss out by only 1500 rank . Before NIT Silchar I get NIT patna civil engineering in first round of counselling but due to better placement stat and campus I choose this one . My admission process is very smooth where the help desk counter and senior help new comer. On my admission day I also get my scholarship id i.e, roll no. One think that is more frustrating on that day is that for hostel allocation, server was working and I get my hostel room no at 7 pm which is after 7 hours of my admission....Read More

I chose this college mainly due to its large campus and facilites and decent placements. This college has a great alumni network and has the best clubs and societies among top colleges and also organises one of the best fests. I could have got a better college but my rank didn't allow me to secure admission into the top ones. Our college only accepts JEE Mains score as the admission criteria. It has good infrastructure , medical facilities and even if a student is hospitalised they can get upto 50 thousand support from the nit silchar . it is greeny campus which give us a chance to stay in a good environment and love our nature too...Read More
