Over view of NIT SILCHAR

The curriculum covers all the courses ime the six branches in first year. In first sem each three branches will have similar subjects and curriculum accordingly and in the second sem the subjects will be reversed this type of curriculum is followed in the campus so to access students and let them allow to change their branch. The cgpa of first year is calculated after normalising with all branches so to allow them to slide their branch if interested. Generally the classes are form 8-5 but daily you will not have the same schedule it will change based on your labs and classes depends on lecturers. Finally I want to conclude that curriculum and study wise I will 4/5 for my campus.

Internships in the campus are completely online. This is to ensure the attendance of the student. The campus has attendence criteria of 75% so to avail it all the internship opportunities here are through online. Some of the clubs like GDSC and ecell help a lot in getting internships.

The campus placement of nit silchar is well and good but now due to recession period it is same as all the colleges but not bad. The highest package of CSE department last year is 80LPA and the average package is 24LPA according to my knowledge you can also avail the details from the TnP cell from campus website.

Coming to the fee structure the tution fee per sem is 76000 for a general category student and 0 for the SC/ST/PWD/Students with inc below 1 lakh and 32000 for those who annual income is below 5 lakh this is per semester. Coming to hostel every sem we have to pay BHM an amount of 22500 per sem. But in the first sem we have 10000 extra which comes under caution deposit in which balance will be returned but need not to hope on it. Coming to scholar ships Nsp is one which is most familiar in the campus which gives the amount based on the reservation you can avail the details from their website coz I don't know the details much about it. But there will be no much scholarship for a student who joins under general category like me.

I the campus there are many clubs which covers many aspects of the life like advay(drama) , aaveg(dance), astra(space) etc.. and many other clubs which cover many aspects. The technical fest of our campus is Tecnoesis which gives a wide opportunity to explore the techinical which majorly covers robotics. The annual cultural fest which is the most awaited I our campus is incandescence which is a huge event which covers upto 4 days. There are wide range of books in the campus and it is very proud to say that nit silchar have asias largest digital library of my knowledge. Coming to social aspects campus have NSS and NCC which involves students in social activities. There are many sports facilities in the campus and inter nit opportunities will always be there.

I have been alloted the boys hostel 3 in this year mostly those who join the first year they will BH3 or aryanbhatta hostel in which the facilities not comparable to private colleges but good as a government college according to my suggestion where ever you join i.e in government college don't compare with private colleges ????????. In any room the basic things provided are fan light bed study table chair and a cupboard. All the first year hostels include balcony. Coming to mess food quality is ok there will nonveg for 5 days a week. Registration process is not much difficult for hostel after hostel allotment is done you can pay fee in SBI portal and submit the receipt to hostel warden .

After coming to college there will 3-4 four days available for registration and we can avail all types of forms at fps(fair price shop)inside the campus it self. The process will take roughly 1 hour if the strength is more at a time. All the reservation benefits will be availed here according govt of India. Coming to exams there will one mid and one end exam in each sem which will be of moderate level and there will minor tests before end exam. The only aspect which I don't like is for every sem we have to do registration offline online registration is not available here thank you
