The curriculum of the course is so outdated that doesn't link much with practical aspects in the first 1-2 years. There are subjects like physics chemistry maths which doesn't have much to do with the practical job of an enginner that too a software enginner. And the class schedule is also so hectic that our classes start from 8 am and last till 5 pm including labs for not much free time to fulfil extracurricular during our weekdays .some courses prepares for real world too. The exams are very frequent mid sem end sem minors class test they are not that tough but we have to study atleast a week before to get 8 -8.5 gpa and if targeting for 9+ gpa we must study from starting itself. Course could be made better if they can introduce minors in cs, dsa and all practical courses.

Intership is provided from the 3rd year you can also apply off campus also and great companies give great internship stripends companies like Amazon and American express give the offer to be their intern . If you are getting good cpga then chances of getting good internship is very high. Just you need to hustle.

Students are eligible for placement from 7th semester and most of the students get very good placement with decent packages. if we see the figures we can see that avg package of CSE above 24 lpa. So there is a great opportunity to get a good job

Tution fees of this college is not that much high for general student is will be around 12 lacks but there are various scholarships available for students based on their family income . If family income is between 1-5 lacks 50% tution fees is reduced and if family income is below 1 lack 100% scholarship is awarded. If your family income is between 1-5 lacks your 4 year btech will cost around 4-4.5 lacks and if below 1 lack then it will be around 3 lacks . Also 100% scholarship on tution fees is available for sc/st students. The PhD students are given stripends of around 20-25k per month for 7-8 hours of serive in labs .

Here one technical fest is there technosis which is organised on large scale and is funded by companies like coca cola and amul. And one cultural fest is also there named incandasence which is one of the largest fest in North East which also happens on very large scale . Thechnosis usually happens in November and incandascence usually happens in month of febuary. All types of sports facility ar present like football gound cricket ground gym badminton court but swimming pool is. Not present. Many clubs are there like obitevvo, aaveg dram club gymkhana and mun club almost club for everything. Library is huge and full of books you want.

The hostels are available in campus itself they are neat and clean but the mess food is not good hygiene is not maintained properly while making and serving food there is a mess management committee but still more of less chaos for good food keeps on going in the hostel the line is also very big and taste and quality of food that we get after waiting is not worth. Caution money for hostel is 10000 rs which is refundable and 22500 is taken for each semister but generally 5-6 k is refunded by fines . Ac is not present in room only fam table chair and a bed

The admission to nit silchar which is a central college of national importance is through jee mains only for btech and this exam is conducted two times in a year in January and April mostly and cutoff for my branch for general is around 22000 and for EWS which is my reservation is 23145 respectively. The application form is available on jeemains official website and is released around 2 months before the conduction of jee by nta and application fees is 1000 rs for general. Everyone who have passed 12th with pcm is eligible for jee mains and for taking admission in this college and he must get a signed undertaking from doctor that he is medically fit to do btech in college without which he will not be allowed to take admission and his registration will be cancelled during time of registration. The jee exam is actually not very difficult but the competition is around 10-12 lacks student write exam so each number matters a lot. The admission process is so outdated must be made online
