Remarks

Professors are very helpful, friendly and students get a space to open up with their teachers in a much different and good way unlike in schools where they were restricted to share about anything in general.

Entrance Preview

I got in through cut-off which was 80% for commerce students. Different cut-offs for different streams are released.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum for BA Programme is quite decent. There are total four subjects you need to be studying. You get to choose 2 disciplines which are compulsory for you to take up in every year. The remaining two keeps in changing, that too according to your choice.

Internships Opportunities

College does not provide any internships. Students need to apply them on their own via some internship websites like www.internshala.com or www.interntheory.com. But college does offer NSS and NCC experience which is beneficial for the future for many who want to have a career in these fields in particular. Being a part of NSS or NCC is compulsory.

Placement Experience

1

No placements are given on the behalf of the college and there is no placement cell as such. The students need to apply for internships from various internship websites, the most popular being www.internshala.com and www.interntheory.com. At the initial level students would get maximum of Rs. 10,000 as a stipend, be it for any course honors or programme. But through sponsorships, internship fairs can be held in college also.

College Events

3.5

College Fest takes place. Cultural Programmes on every festival. Fresher Party for every department and Common Fresher party for all. Fashion Shows, Dance Competitions, Art and Craft Competitions etc. and so much more. Students can be a part of society like fashion society, writing society, drama society and the list goes on. As SPM is a women’s college, but during fests, students from around ao many different colleges come and make the event all the more way happening.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of each and every course is so feasible that you will dance with joy. Fees for programme courses are low as compared to the Honours courses, but it is very easily affordable either way. Trust me your parents and you yourself would feel so good and satisfied that you are getting a good education from such a reputed university at such low costs.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, scholarships are available because the admission is only on the basis of cut-offs and they are quite high. So only meritorious and students with good marks in academics oh get in here, and the fees also are very feasible so maybe that is why no scholarship facilities are given by the college.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is enjoyable, you get to roam with your friends as there are many food chains, cafes to hop around and have a fun time. You find friends according to your personality as each and every kind if a student gets admission when it comes to Delhi University.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No hostel facility in college but various Pg’s for specifically girls are there in abundance, i.e- Punjabi Bagh, as most of the girls are coming from the outskirts of Delhi. But in coming years there are chances that hostel facilities would be provided as most girls find difficult to find an accommodation.

Alumni/Alumna

The students union are very helpful and look into all your problems so well that they even great in touch with the Principal and management if the college to rectify the issue

Exam Structure

Semester wise exam structure takes place and is hassle-free. In case you missed an exam or anything the procedure to re-appear is also not that big an issue. The management would help you get the required information and you’ll be done. Exam timings are also according to the course you opt for. Honors students mostly have an exam in the morning hours and programme students in the evening.

Admission

Step 1- Once you meet the cut-off you need to stand in long ques and get your 12th marksheet verified. Step 2- Buy prospectus of the college where you will find a form for the admission process which you need to fill. The prospectus would cost you Rs. 100/-

Faculty

4.5

The management and faculty are ok because sometimes they get really rude with the students who come to sort any of their queries. It seems really frustrating when they talk unprofessionally. Otherwise, they do give you all the information and gets you through any procedure if necessary.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
