We have to learn the course of all the branches in first year that means all student would firstly learn basics of civil, mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, electronics, energy and environment, communication, physics, chemistry and computer. However, teachers might not be good. We have to study on our own And exam checking are strict.

College gives internship opportunities in third year. But there not be much. It totally depends on student capebilities. Also on CG. Most companies make cg cut of 7+ , But good companies make cg cut of around 8.5+

Placements are good Top companies recently visited like google, oracle, linkedin, samsung on campus. They mostly hire CS AND ELECTRONICS STUDENTS Civil, mechanical students mostly get non-core jobs. Avg package of last year was around 10 lakhs. Avg of cs department is 14-15 lakhs. Electronics is around 13 lakhs. Electrical & Instrumentation branches is around 11. Around 97% of cse students get placed in tiet.

The fees of TIET is really high Around whole degree would cost 30 lakhs Scholarships are there. Mostly merit based . Its branch wise, for example, students with 9+ cgpa of CSE would get scholarship of half of that of Tution fee 10 ones get full tution fee off And then electronics and electrical people get at 8.5+ Mechnical 7+ etc etc Merit cum need scholarships are really less. Around 25 in whole batch

There is good coding culture here Many societies contribute to coding, marketing, designing here We have to get sponsors for events, talk to brands for events Campus life is good, great exposure to many things and many things to learn.

Hostel facilities are good.The fees of hostel are really high due to which you always regret.But overall great experience.You get almira, table, bed, maybe matriess (if lucky) Food is good but its subjective to people and also subjective to hostel.As there are 8 boys hostel and 7 girls hostel on campus So room quality, room decor and security, enjoyment, food quality all depends on which hostel you have opted for. Few hostels have mess of thapar, others have sudexo catering.Few find thapar mess better than sudexo in terms of quality. Other don't find much difference.But thapar mess are good.PG or rented rooms option is less here and thapar patiala campus is not in remote area, there are residents nearby so rent option might be less.

50% seats are thorugh jee mains and other 50% are through PCM. There is punjab quota of 50% There were 4 rounds last year with one spot round (offline) Cutoff of CSE outside punjab through jee mains is like 95%tile and through PCM is around 97%
