Remarks

Khalsa college is known as a rich man college because of the crowd and so do a strict college for its attendance records.

Entrance Preview

As part of ST/SC reservation facilities offered by Delhi University, we have to submit our class xii results and choose our preferred colleges options since my score was only 70% and I know that I wouldn't have chance to get admitted in college like Hindu and Hansraj, I went fro other options and Khalsa was my third choice finally, when the first list came out, I was listed for Khalsa College. I was happy enough since its in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure was overall good for a literature student though they could have done more on linguistics part we studied and read and discussed on English Literature, Classical Indian Literature and Modern Indian Literature which is really good.Curriculum overall was good, though would have been better if focus was more given on what we got to derived from their studies. Also, I guess, syllabus should have also included on other Literature's - African East Asian- though we get to study in semester vi which is quite a minuscule.

Internships Opportunities

I must says its mostly good for commerce students and Science students but I was interning for Nokia promotions during my second year and i got paid 6500 for my 21 days and the experience was good it got rid of my public shyness.

Placement Experience

3

I have no idea, but at one time I heard KPMG and McKinsys are hiring and paying students seven sum figures as for my department I didn't see any such opportunities on the notice boards maybe I wasn't aware much of it, but hey I work one summer -through my college notice board.

College Events

3.5

Yes, we have our English Society, and so do many other departments its fun to go out and ask for sponsorship for our event (we usually target those agencies in and around Kamla Nagar). Inter department events are small usually but the college event is big, very big. I watch Mika, Jazzy B, Hard Kaur performing Live during our college festival its the only place where you get to see them live for free.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is nominal i think I paid 3900 for 1st year 4700 for 2nd year and 6300 for third year so its very cheap compare with other private institutions and you get a degree from Delhi University what more can I add here there is nothing else here in fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, we get almost 50% fee refunded, when we submit our parents income certificate i think its for needy students and many students availed the offer. Normally 5-6 students from each class took the scholarship otherwise there are many other scholarships based on your scores and other memorial scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Khalsa is known for extravagant students comes in cars and flashy dresses, though you can come across behenjis and bhaiiya types occasionally but if you want to hang out around the canteen or the basketball court area you can see lot of street smart and high end clothing and latest mobile phones now the library is also fully a/c and that adds more perks.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, there were no hostels during my time, though a girls hostel was constructed on the lines of the staff quarter near the Gurudwara and since I am a guy, and cannot enter a girls hostel, after I passed out i cant comment on anything about the rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, I took notes from my seniors and that has helped me lot on scoring my exam levels but then you had to act nice to them during your first few months at college as for alumnus I have no idea and I didn't get any fliers for the same.

Exam Structure

Exams one thing I ll always remember here is, you cant think you are in college attendance is strict and so do exams right after your winter breaks starts your internal exams and it really drains your festive mood and for outstation students don't ever.

Faculty

3.5

Except for our Department Head- Mr Novy Kapadia, I must say the rest are not keen on adding extra activities though most of the faculties are young and very aware of the curriculum as for me since I am not an outward student.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
