A little glance at engineers life

My uncle is an civil engineer so I was influenced by him the course curriculum is easy in civil engineering and the difficulty level is medium anyone who has good basics can do it . All the teachers here are good and helping thought there is a need for improvement bcs their way of teaching is getting old all the assignments and tests are quite old fashioned . Our curriculum has subject like surveying which I am very fond of so it influenced my decision to choose this course . The curricullum has subject like office behaviour and other hs subjects which help us to build are profile for the real world and also the core subjects such as rcc and steep structure give us the material to be the real deal in that area of civil engineering

Nhai sjvn are the companies which offered various roles for the students with a stipend of around 10 to 12 k . I myself did my internship from sjvn limited shimla where we were working on an auditorium project and the other project was the guest house project I was given the work to look after the curing stuff in the starting then I was shifted to the flooring work where German marbel was used . I also did my intern at pwd Dharmpur where we did a strech of 12.5 km road out of which 1.5 km was cc road and 11 km was bitumen based road

Students are eligible for campus placement from the starting of the seventh semester . Over the course of whole final year the interested companies visits our college to offer placements .Companies such as l&T , JSW , Aditya Birla group has visited and no of offers were from 5 to 10 . Highest packages are generally around 18 to 25 lakh per year in branches such as cse and ece in civil it was 12 lakh and the average package here is 6 lakh . The perctage varies from branch to brach but if the students are interested and if we don't take this recession period into accountability we can say that around 60% students gets placed from on campus placement. Tuition fee has been same since my admission here in this college to can't comment much on that .The complete cost of my education along with the hostel fee will be around 5.6 to 6 lakh and if we add other compulsory charges the figure will sum upto 7 lakh . There are numerous scholarships and financial aids which are available for students such as student loan we have a branch of sbi bank in our college from where students can apply for educational loans then there are so many scholarships such as for low income families .There aren't many jobs in the campus as we have a very small campus but students can work under teachers for some projects to earn some money There are some responsibilities to fulfill such as to manage the cultural hillffareand technical fest nimbus which are done by the students

The annual cultural fest is hillfare which is organised in the month of October and the technical fest is nimbus . Our college library has so many books every book needed for the subjects are present here and there are also other books such as novels and other entertainment gernals. We have a smart classroom which has 2 projectors in it along with the controlled lighting such as dim and high . We organize inter year and inter branch sports fest I myself played in that in basketball and cricket. There are different clubs such as dance club , music club , hindi samiti , literacy club which helps the poor childrens by providing books and other helpful things . These things has impacted in a good way u can do something good along with your frnds which is a happy feeling

The hostel room consists a bed study table and an Almirah whether it's a single seater or a mutliseater room . The food in out hostels is decent sometimes there are complaints from the students about the menu but other then that it's preety decent it's not very good but eatable . We have a menu which is prepared by the hostel committe which is a student body so when it's finalised it is followed over the course of semester. The registration process is simple for the hostels . Hostels are alloted for different year students such as one hostel will be alloted to the 1st year and other for 2nd and so on you just have to show the ID card and the fee receipt of the payment for hostel . Sometimes I feel like 35000 are too much for 5 -6 months but yeah it's fine . Hamirpur is a very small place and the locality is all good hospital is also very near so u can rent A room or a pg near college

Admission process was quite difficult as it was during covid so there were internet problems . During Admission prosses there were too many forms to fill for different certificates such as for Jossa and other things . My house is 13 km away from the main market so i had to travel alot during my time of admission . There is one thing that jossa can do to make it easier they can create a profile for every student who cleared the cut off and then admission process should be continued on that same portal . As I have general ews I have to pay half of the normal tuition fee which is great . There is one or two holidays between each exams so we can revise and prepare for it so the exams are not that hard
