Remarks

The college ground is massive but the canteen is not so good. The college is clean and managed

Entrance Preview

it is one of the prestigious colleges in DU and offers great faculty for economics. It have a great infrastructure and airconditioned classrooms. it has one of the best libraries in north campus. I got admitted through the sikh quota merit list. The course economics honours is surely a difficult but a great course provided by the university.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Economics honours is a difficult course, the curriculum is as of all other courses of DU. for the 1st year we had 4 subjects, in which 2 were core 1 was general elective and 1 was AECC. These both subjects has choices. The core subjects included maths and economics. AECC is a language course and GE has various options like commerce, physics, computers etc

Internships Opportunities

no the college does not provide any internship as of now but there are many programs that are held by the college that students can take part in.

Placement Experience

1

there is a placement cell in college but for the course like economics the college does not provide any placement for now but maybe in future we have our own placement cell. And also the rate of placement or the no. of students placed every year is not so high.

College Events

4

the college has a annual day celebrated in which the merit students get awarded and get cash prizes ad also the societies receive certificates which is followed by a lunch for students and the teachers. The other is the college fest which is celebrated in the near February or march. In this all societies conduct different events. It is of 2-3 days and also a guest singer is called.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the college fees for DU is real cheap. My course costs me 19000 yearly. this includes my examination fees as well. Its paid online and not offline. Its paid all together at the starting of the year. The fee for different courses in different colleges is different and even for the same course it is different for different colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

no im not yet aware of any such things. Moreover the fee is so low one hardly needs any scholarship or loan facility.

Campus Life

5

campus life is totally amazing. You get to attend so many great college fests of different colleges. During the fest ome can participate in numerous events like art, mysteryrooms, MUN's and many more. The best part being you can also wn lots of cash prizes and vouchers.

Hostel Facilities

5

Our college just has a girls hostel and no boys hostel.Im not a hostler but many of my friends live in hostel. It has amazong food and quite spacious rooms. They serve non veg as well, twice a week. It also has an attached garden and is built inside the college premisis.

Alumni/Alumna

it depends on the course and their society if they conduct alumni meets you surely get to meet the alumnis and get great help from them, otherwise the college does not conduct any such thing

Exam Structure

The exam structure in DU is same for all the courses and colleges. All the colleges get the same set of question paper. The center for the examination is our college it self and the papers are sent to different colleges for the correction process. The exam duration is for 3 hours.

Admission

i got admitted through sikh quota merit list. For course like economics hon. the admission is through merit(also for the general chatagory). 1st thing is to apply on the online website of Delhi University. After nearly a month or two of registration the university releases their cutoff lists starting from the 1st cutoff till maybe 8 or 10 as the case maybe. If you fulfill the cutoff u need to go to the respective college for getting admission.

Faculty

4.5

The college faculty for my course is great. Though at college level teachers are not so helpful yet you get good student teacher interactions in the class room itself. Moreover we also have tutorial periods in which one can discuss one's doubts on one to one basis with the teacher

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
