NIT Agartala: Not your dream NIT

In my state, Tripura, Civil Engineering has the highest govt jobs and thus I chose this. The course is very well prepared and the practical subjects involves field work and real life application of our knowledge. Improvement needs to be regarding faculty because a lof of times, they only cover syllabus on a surface level but put difficult questions on the question paper. Also, the exam schedule is pretty hectic with no gap between consecutive exams a lot of times. We often face overburdened due to assignments and the exams are very frequent with very less time to cover syllabus.

Placement is good for circuital branches. But for core branches its hard to get a good placement. In my branch,Civil engineering placement is around 70%. Students are eligible for placements from 3rd year onwards. Highest package from NIT Agartala is 58lpa. From my branch it is around 19lpa. I want to get a job in MNC after this degree

For a general category student tuition fee per semester is around 70,000. While for SC,ST, and EWS category,they pay around 5000 per semester. There are ample scholarships available for students with categories or weak financial backgrounds. There is a stipend section dealing with it. Top class SC, Ishaan Uday, Post Madhyamik etc are certain scholarship schemes. I get Post Madhyamik stipend worth Rs. 3600 as a general student with income above 5lpa.

This year in 2023, the annual fest Moksha has been held. The tech fest will be held in March. The club culture is strong in this college. There are clubs for almost every domain of interest. Library has books for every department as well as for recreation. Every classroom is a smart class Sports such as Khokho, basketball, cricket badminton are widely played and well represemted by this college in inter-college championships. WECAN is a student run organisation helping needy students with education and their hobbies.

Per semester hostel fee is 26000. One room has 2 beds, 1 cupboard and 1 table and 1 chair. The meal quality is very average. Menu offers dishes from all over India. For hostel, one needs to go to Chief Warden and with their referal they need to submit the hostel initiation fee on College Website. The room allotment is done on the website

For getting into NIT Agartala, one needs to appear for JEE Mains examination. The cut off varies on several factors such as Reserved quota,PWD Quota and Home-state Quota. There is also Female reservation. I got into Civil Engineering in a Gender neutral seat with 82.17 percentile with Home state quota. One needs to appy in the website of JOSAA and select colleges considering the cut off. Once we opt for a certain college, we need to properly rank our choices of degree. The counselling goes for 5/6 rounds and for the last round we need to lock our choice. The initial registration fee was 75000 rupees and we have register physically with proper required documents . With this the admission process is completed. There are 2 semesters and 2 theory exams per semester namely mid term(20marks) and end term(50marks). Rest 30 is from internal assessment. There is also 1 practical exam per subject in every semester. In my opinion, the college exam schedule is very hectic,with no gaps mostly.
