Course Curriculum Overview

5

I would rate this course a 9 on a scale of 10. This course provides in depth knowledge of the different operation involved in a manufacturing process. I was fascinated by the impact it has on industry and deal with real-life challenges within an organisation. This course provides industrial knowledge along with practical application. The laboratory is very helpful for us to understand various machines and tools. The professors are really helpful and open to help anytime. The level examination is moderate. Each semester is almost 5 months long. I would suggest they should focus more on Lab because it helps us to understand things better and in a more practical way. The overall experience is really good.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the beginning of 4th year , one can apply for placement. The highest package of 2023 is INR 52 LPA and average package is INR 7 LPA and lowest package is INR 3 LPA. The placement for 2023 is 78.88 %. Companies visit NITA are Mahindra, Deloitte, Tata Power, Capgemini, Gail India Limited, Accenture, Siemens etc. If any student fails to get placed, one can opt for higher education or off campus placements. My plan is to get placed in a core company after completing my B.Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

NIT Agartala B.Tech tuition fee is INR 62,500 per semester for (GEN/OBC). SC/ST/PH candidates shall be exempted from tuition fees. Candidates from the Most Economically Backward category (whose family income is less than INR 1 Lakh) will get full remission of the tuition fees. Whereas, for the Other Economically Backward category (whose family income is between 1-5 Lakh), candidates will get a two-thirds remission tuition fee. The complete cost of my education is 5 lakhs. There are many scholarships available such as Post matric scholarship (ST/SC/OBC), Ishanuday and many more. The placement facility is good within the campus. Many IT and Core companies visit our campus for recruitment.

Campus Life

5

We have two big fests one is cultural known as MOKSHA and one is technical known as Aayam. The culture fest is held on March and technical fest is held on January. The involvement of cultural and technical clubs are excellent. We have various technical clubs such as DCC for coding, Anarc for robotics , Anima for aviation, Finance and consulting club, E-Cell for entrepreneurship development. For cultural, we have Art, dance, drama, music clubs as well. We have a huge library with unlimited books and accessibility. The sports complex is great encouraging students to stay fit physically. Students can run those clubs which improves ther leadership qualities, team work and exposure.

Admission

The eligibility is to clear JEE Mains along with 65% and above in higher secondary examination. The application form for JEE Mains is available on jeemain.nta.in website. There are 2 sessions held with a gap of 3months.The duration of the examination is 3hours with 75 questions each for 4marks and for wrong answer -1. Fee structure for the application is: INR 1000 (Male unreserved/ OBC/ EWS category) INR 800 (Female unreserved /OBC/ EWS category) INR 500 (SC /ST /PwD/ Transgender category. The level of examination varies between easy, moderate and hard depending on session. The percentile is based on the level of hardness in that session. The admission process was pretty smooth. After the completion of both the sessions, one can register on JOSAA/CSAB website for further counselling process. Every college releases it's cut off on JOSAA/CSAB which varies every year. For 2024 expected cutoff is for General category to be 89+, EWS 78+, OBC 74+, SC 44+, and PwD 0.11+.

Every year placements happen and about 80 percent of the total students of the institute get placed in various dream tier and other companies with good packages. The packages depend on year to year, more specifically on hiring trends. I still did not make a decision for my post degree plans.
