Iit bbs : beyond the walls.

Electrical engineering deals with wide range of concepts regarding transmission of current its loses, generation of power and its maintenance,latest and old principles of electricity and magnetism and students are exposed to many practical applications in labs and projects making it more interesting and fun. As the course has many labs and projects we can safely say it gives us experience on real world applications and develop our understanding on it. Many international institutes give more complex and critical projects directly related to real life problems I hope even we can experience that. There will be 2 semesters in an academic year autumn and spring semesters.Each semester has 2 theory exams mid sem exam and end sem exam.No. of labs and subjects vary depending on semester.

Institute provides winter and summer internship program. For each course we can apply for these from 3rd semester. Students can apply for internship in different companies also like google ,infosys, thought works, fac set.. etc .

Students are eligible from 6th semester for campus placements. Companies visit campus during placement season. Companies which offer jobs are google, Microsoft, Amazon, goldman sachs, Flipkart, oracle, adobe, oil india, gail , arm, caterpillar, analog devices, tata steel.. 2023 placement season details Branch placement. Avg ctc. Highest ctc Cse.96% 26 lpa. 56 lpa. Ece.87%. 22 lpa. 44lpa Ee 85%. 20lpa. 44lpa Mech 85%. 13lpa. 21lpa Civil 68%. 12lpa. 38lpa Metallurgy 60% 13lpa. 23lpa 2024 Highest package 64 lpa .

Tution fee is 100000 per semester and there are some compulsory charges for library and gym ..etc making it 115000 . For 1st semester (only)students have to pay 135000 .So institute fee per year is around 270000.This fee is only for general and Obc students with parental income above 8lpa.In hostel +mess fee is 18000 per semester (same for all students). SC/ST /PHC students are exempted from tution fee and for general and obc students with parental income below 1lpa are also exempted from tution fee. Students with parental income between 1lpa and 5lpa have to pay 1/3 of tution fee which is 33000 per semester.Other scholarships from banks (from canara bank)and other private companies are also there MCM scholarship Central sector scholarship (sc,st) Educational loan from canara bank.

Institute has 4 fests annualy Alama (annual cultural fest) in march E Summit (annual entrepreneurship fest) in February 3 days. Wissenaire (annual techno management fest) in February or march 3 days. Ashvamedha (annual sports fest) in September or October. 3 days There is one central library where students can borrow books it has novels, magazines,and course related books each student can take 3 to 5 (depends on course)books at a time and are given 1 month to return it . Classrooms are central air conditioned with 3 boards and 1 projecter it also has podium on dias for teachers. Capacity of class room varies depending on size it 120 or 60. Classroom looks like a auditoria lecture classroom. There are 5 outdoor basket ball courts,4 indoor badminton courts,5 table tennis courts,3 lawn tennis courts,1 cricket ground,1 swimming pool,2 football courts,3 volleyball courts and there is also Sac (student activity centre)where students can meet and discuss.There are 10 societies and clubs.

Each room is given a fan ,tube light, bed (cot not provided) , chair ,desk, cupboard ,balcony. Each student is given a single room. Mess food is not all that excellent but it is fine there is timetable for each month and menu can be changed each month (there are some compulsary items). Breakfast,lunch,snacks(limited),dinner are provided. Hostel is in institute and fee is paid along with institute fee . 18000 per semester so 36000 per year (room +mess) is fee.

Eligibility criteria is based on jee advanced rankings last year cut off rank was around Air 7500 for general students.It varies depending on type of reservation. Application details can it found on official website of iit Bhubaneswar. The institute conducts 2 written exams per semester namely mid sem exam and end sem exam. Internals and labs vary in each semester. There will be 2 semesters in an academic year autumn and spring semesters. Difficulty level of exams is moderate. If students can directly interact with the college during admission to clear their queries it would be helpful.
