Course Curriculum Overview

3

Various course combinations are available as per the new curriculum this helped me in choosing course of my choice of economics and computer science which earlier was not available. Apart from this additional courses like skill enhancement course ,value addition course prepares one for further academic pursuits The areas of improvement can be in the schedule of the classes which is quite irregular which results in wastage of time also way of teaching should have certain practical approaches which can result in better understanding for students.Semester Exams takes place twice in a year I have given first semester exam till now .The difficulty level of the same is quite unpredictable as per my experience and contrary as well to what teachers suggest as important in class .

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Placement cell of our college offers various internship opportunities. Some of them are paid and some are not. There exists huge varieties of internship opportunities with different time duration, mode of working, perks and stipend and type of work. Usually the internships are based on sales and marketing.Short term internship are also available.Internship opportunities for NGO's are also available, like SKCF . Students can opt for the internship opportunities from college society as well like ROTARACT. They also provide internship opportunities.A point to be noted is that one cannot rely on these internships for placement. Big companies usually come for recruitment in top colleges of Delhi University like SRCC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Delhi University being a government college provides quality education at cheaper rate.As my course is BA programme (Economics+Computer application) so my per year fees is ?11415.My course includes one practical subject (i.e.computer )which makes the fees a bit more than other courses having only theory subjects. Scholarships are provided to those student who have family income below 4 lakh per annum. They can avail the scholarship benefit in which about half of their college fees will be returned back. The college also have a placement cell which offers various opportunities (events , internships ) anyone can opt the one of their choice from it . Also there are various societies in the college like debating society (Hindi & English), marketing society, dance singing so on and so forth . The society working for social welfare is also available, namely National service scheme.

Freshers party is organised for the new comers followed by Diwali mela -Sparkles.The library facilities are awesome in our college one can have access to a wide range of books, magazines , newspapers of the huge variety. The facility of E-library is also available also the environment there is quite peaceful. The classrooms are also well equipped with all necessities.Wide range of sports and extra curricular activities are available in the college .One who wants to learn any new skill or sport can do the same . Students run society are there in the college of different areas (debate, dance etc ).Also a student union is there .This help in development of leadership skills in the students.

Admission

The admission process is based on the CUET entrance exam also the 12 board exam percentage acts as the breaker in case of same score.Any 12 passed out student can appear in the exam .The application form for the CUET entrance exam is available on cuet.samarth.ac.in, application fee depends on the number of subjects a person is choosing to give in entrance exam. Application date for the for the form is usually from the beginning of March till mid March , correction window also gets opened several time.Reservation is provided to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes also to students from army background.Certain college of DU offer reservation to Christian minority like St.stephen college,Jesus and Mary college. The exam takes place once a year and different takes place on multiple days and shifts . Difficulty level varies from shift to shift but at the end score is normalised so difficulty level doesn't matter. The process of normalisation should be based on criteria.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
