Course Curriculum Overview
I choose civil engineering because i always get inspired from infrastructure marvels around the world and want to learn how they are made. Yes, in my college everything is there to get hands on experience with many internship opportunity. I think teaching can be improved by adding online recorded classes as a feature with 50% attendance policy. Every semester have 2 exam which happen every 2 months with moderate difficulty
Internships Opportunities
Companies such as JP Morgan , Amazon , Google provides internship with stipend upto 1lac. Projects such as backend management and programs to help automate company functions, helps students to become industry ready
Placement Experience
From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Many big companies like amazon, adobe , deloitte, etc and make many offers. Highest package is 1.7cr offered by Cred to dual degree CSE student and average is 12lac. Each year 80-85% students get placed. My plan is to open my own construction firm
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees vary from category to category with 0 Tuition fees for ST/SC/OBC and families with less then 1lac annual income. Total fees of 1 year including hostel and your personal expenses which i assume to be 5k per month is around 3.2lacs. There are many scholarships that you can opt for in which some can fully waive all your fees. There are no such opportunity for campus employment according to my knowledge.
Campus Life
There are 2 fests in a year with an annual sports meet. Hillfair is the cultural fest held in the month of October which features famous bands and artists and Nimbus is technical fest held in the month of April. Library is huge with many genre of books which are issued for 1 month period with your id card Every classroom is equipped with projectors,good lighting and well furnished Campus offers many outdoor as well as indoor activities such as basketball,volleyball,cricket,football,badminton,pool,chess,table tennis,etc. There are also many clubs and society which offers many unique ways to express your talent such as music,dramatics,robotics,dance,technical,etc
Hostel Facilities
Every room is equipped with Lan ,fan, table, lockers, tubelight and a wifi which is shared between 3-4 rooms. Meal is good with balance diet and tasty food. Menu comprises many meals throughout the week which changes every 1-2 months. Hostel is allotted during college registration and is affordable with 25-40k for hostel and mess combined. If you wish to live outside , there are many PG with decent locality.
Admission
For getting admission in national institute of technology hamirpur you need to clear jee mains with good percentile. After getting a good rank, you can apply for jossa or csab counciling. If you belong from SC/ST or OBC caste , you can avail reservation as per no of reserved seats. Exams are totally dependent on subject like if we talk about maths or mechanical it is hard but some subject like communication is easy Exam happens every 1.5-2 months. Admission can be improved by reducing time it takes to get a seat through jossa and csan
