MESCET KUNNUKARA:an overview

The course curriculum I'm under is kerala technological University 2019-2024 scheme which will end in 2024. The current syllabus is rather far from industrial relevance. The computer science syllabus only starts teaching a programming language from semester 2 ( C programming ) . But the current syllabus will be updated. The syllabus updation frequency is 4 years. Like most colleges, the syllabus does not prepare you for industry. KTU semester are moderate difficulty and the timing is December January for odd semester and may - June got even semesters. Backlogs can be cleared during any semester exams. You are required to possess 100 activity points ( acquired through participation in extra curricular activities ) and 162 credit points to graduate. You are eligible for minor degree and honours if you meet the eligibility requirements.

College doesn't provide internships in collaboration with industry giants but with regional companies. Students get to participate in IIT hosted internships and other paid internships. Few students have cracked internships and placements at good companies

My current tuition fee is 40000 rupees after scholarship for 12th score percentage. The hostel fee is 52000 per year and a security fee of 5200 is deducted for both hostel and campus. Few other negligible charges exist. KEAM students are eligible for special scholarships which I don't know much about. You are required to pay an exam fee every semester deoendinyin the courses you are undertaking. Campus employment is mostly available for senior students . Most of the national scholarships and some more are accepted. You can also avail a scholarship for performing well in semester exams

The college conducts a yearly freshman fest at the start of academic year. Other yearly college events are arts and sports fests as well as holiday celebrations. College management doesn't promote the implementation of variety of programs and extra curricular activities. College does not provide funds for conducting programs or events. College does possess clubs and organizations like IEDC and IEEE and GDSC and they're active, all other clubs are inactive. College participates in KTU techfest and intercollege arts and sports meets. College doesn't have enough infrastructure to support huge events.

Hostel Life is comparatively great. The fee is affordable for the services provided and meals. Efficiently strict but not too strict. Good location for internet acces and spacious rooms. A great package for 5200 a month.

Student entry to this college is through three different modes. KEAM / LATERAL ENTRY MANAGEMENT QUOTA NRI ADMISSION The application process starts around the end of school academic year and the application form can be found on the official collection website. You can register for free online and then visit the college to complete the admission process in case of management quota. In case of KEAM, standard keam admission procedure is carried out. Management and nri intake procedure is same. You are required to pay a portion of the semester fee and book the seat early in case of management admission. I have not availed of any reservation. Exams are usually held from December to January for the odd semester and may-june for the even semester. College is overall low middle tier despite the faculties being hardworking individuals. The infrastructure and co-curricular scoring is very low. Scholarships are available for well-performing students.
