PMEC , The College

The College follows the curriculum of The BIJU PATTNIAK UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (BPUT) as it is affiliated to that University. The syllabus is quite vast yet easy . I have choosen the Civil Engineering branch as I am curious about how these simple things like cement bricks steels can make such beautiful and strong structures . This branch teaches me that. Although I am in 2nd semester, but I have learnt that this can help us gain knowledge both theritocal and pratical that helps us in gaining good jobs in the future. The exams of the college is good but all the things happened in a bit hurry . This may be because of they are trying to get back the previous schedule (pre COVID) . The paper level is good. It challenges us to think before we ink .

The fees structure of the college is like any other Government Engineering fees. We have to pay 39,900 /- in the first year during the time of admission. The college fees is? 29,900/- per annum. This fees has been same for the past 2-3 years . This covers the complete cost of my study . As I am a day scholar , the hostel charges are not included here. The campus provides good hostel as well as canteen facilities for students . The college has a separate section for scholarships and other beneficiaries. They help us in getting scholarship that we are eligible to get . They are very helpful and help us in getting scholarships.

Our college campus is a very big campus. It is situated near Sitalapali Village, approximately 8-10 kilometres far from Berhampur city. The college is surrounded by huge amount of trees . It looks very beautiful during the time of monsoon. The environment is very calm and student friendly. But the transport facility is a bit of problem. The campus is very big but outside class rooms the campus doesn't have a single bench for students to sit on . There is a Central library present in our college. It contains two sections , The Circular section & the Reference section. We can visit both the sections during the scheduled time. All the classrooms are equipped with Digital boards for easy teaching . All the laboratories are equipped with good devices for Easy learning. The college conducts an annual sports meet i.e. ARENA & the cultural Festival - EXUBERANCE. There are many clubs for extra curricular activities. These are study related and unrelated.

The Admission process was quite simple. I have to appear the JEE mains exam based on whose score card I got into the OJEE councelling process . After which I got selected in the college for Civil Engineering branch as my rank was not good. The college is government college affiliated to BPUT Roulkela . So there is reservation for students accordingly for SCs,STs,OBCs,EBCs etc. The JEE mains exam occurs two times a year. The January attempt and the April attempt. You can apply for it and get good scores to get in better branches . The application process and registration process was simple . Although they can improve in the allotment process which is a bit slow . But the good thing is you can also get spot addmission if seats are available. For more details do visit the OJEE website.
