Remarks
As far as departmental management is concerned, it was quite good. But the same can't be said about the college management. Long ques for fee submission, examination form submission is a common scenario. The staff isn't efficient or active enough to cater the needs of too many students at a time. But as they say, THERE IS ALWAYS A ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. So is the case with Kalinda. Getting a recent A GRADE from NAAC is one such sign of Improvement.
Entrance Preview
KALINDI COLLEGE is an off-campus college, so like every other 12th class student I wanted to get into a north campus DU college. But at the same time, I didn't want to compromise on my desired course. With my percentage, I could get admission in economics honors in A.R.S.D college and Kalindi. Since Kalindi is more convenient to reach in terms of transportation, So I chose KALINDI.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of B.A.(Hons.) Economics is the same for all colleges of Delhi University. All the readings included in the curriculum are written by renowned authors. Along with compulsory subjects, students have to study certain elective subjects that prove to be useful such as logic. Languages are also given significant place in the curriculum. The curriculum is a mixture of theoretical and practical subjects. It focuses on teaching the history of economics as well as its application in the real world. The timetable included at least five slots for tutorials so that students could clarify their doubts on one to one basis.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are very limited. The college doesn't host the biggies of the industry. Time and again, Few camps had been set up by numerous employment websites such as INTERNSHALA, NAUKRI.COM etc.
Placement Experience
Placements were done through Central placement cell. Students had to register themselves with CPC to get placement assistance, counseling for employment and entrepreneurship until September 2017. The placement cell of Kalindi college was rechristened 'KRYPTUS' in 2017 with the induction of 15 student members. The placement cell isn't well established yet but it is trying to reach out to various institutions such as Yes bank, Decathlon, Capgemini etc. to provide job opportunities to students.
College Events
A number of events are celebrated in the college. The college has numerous societies students can be a part of. 'KARMA'- the dance society, 'RAQS'- the dramatics society are active participants in inter-college competitions. The college also has many times hosted inter-college dance competitions and Inter- college 'Nukkad Nataks' to encourage students towards these crafts. 'LEHREN'- the annual college fest is the most sought after events of the year. Apart from these, other cultural festivals like the Annual Diwali Mela are a significant part of college life. NCC and NSS department is also quite active. Various camps are organized time and again in and out of college campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college fee structure is undoubtedly feasible. The annual fee for B.A.(Hons.) economics is around 6k. Also, the college provides various need-based as well as merit-based scholarships to its students. One of many scholarships is SILVER JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP given to the best all-rounder student of the year.

Campus Life
As the review description says, Kalindi college is a NO MAN's WORLD. Being a girl's college, the atmosphere is quite feminine. One can see girls hailing from affluent families to girls who have come on scholarships. Infrastructure has been improving consistently for a few years now. Amphitheatre, well-equipped students' lab, a huge playground in the back all integrate to make students' life more easy and comfortable. Karol Bagh market is on walking distance from the college, so you know where to go during free lectures!
Hostel Facilities
The college doesn't provide hostel facility. But since the college is located in a residential area, ample of accommodation facilities are available near the college premises. The college has a canteen and an open NESCAFE cafeteria. The canteen menu isn't too varied though. A newly established MOTHER DAIRY stall caters students' sweet tooth very well.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were quite helpful. The frequent department meetings and cultural events give enough opportunities to students to get to know their seniors. Also, the department students' committee also organizes various competitions and fests to ensure a friendly environment for the freshers. But it is also subjective as it depends on which department you belong to!
Exam Structure
The 3-year programme is divided into 6 semesters. Exams are held twice in a semester. One is held in the middle of the semester and one at the end of semester. The weightage of mid-semester exams and semester end exams is 25% and 75% respectively. Students are given around 7 days break before both the exams. Syllabus for the exams is pre-decided in the university meetings attended by college professors from different colleges.
Admission
After the 12th result was declared, I filled the common form for all colleges of Delhi university along with my preferred courses. After that all the colleges released their cut off lists that is the minimum marks required to get admission in a particular course. I got the admission when Kalindi college released it's second cut off list in eco hons. On reaching the college campus I had to fill up a few forms giving personal details and information about optional subjects that I would have to study. I had to submit my original 12th marksheet along with a few other documents. After that, I had to submit the annual fee and got the fee receipt as a token of proof for the admission.
Faculty
As far as the economics department is concerned, the faculty is really good. The teachers have been really helpful. All the senior professors had done their P.H.D from renowned institutions. All the teachers try their best to give a detailed explanation of each and every topic. The shortcomings during the lectures are compensated in the tutorials.
