Indian Maritime University is a paramilitary college, You have to get up for PT every morning before classes and have sports in the evening after classes as well as regular head counts. There are various competitions and functions taking place around the year like lithosphere, tempest... Which is Asias greatest marine fest At the time of Passing out parade there are March past practices as well. There are various festivals also celebrated. Books are provided by the library to everyone and have to be returned at the end of the semester. Every class has projector facilities.

Hostel facilities are decent and compulsory for all, even locals In first year there are 6 guys in one room but the rooms are pretty spacious Almirah and tables are provided to everyone The food is okay, a bit plain and you can get bored of it but it's still manageable Registration of hostel is included during the time of admission
