Life of a cadet in DMET.

So basically i joined this Institute because of its legacy which have been going on from last 75 years. The curriculum of thus Institute is well prepared that helps ones to cope up with difficult situation in life like better time management , discipline . No area of improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods. So we have like exams at the end of every semester. Before that we have two tests on the basis of which internal marks arw decided. The difficulty of examination is from moderate to high.

There are cadet ships provided by different companies like SHIPPING CORPORATION OF INDIA, NYK AND CHEVRON which on experience get cobverted into real placement. There are stipends also provided. Intership is good here.

Student become eligible after 1st semester. If hmthey had no supplementary exam pending. Companies th SHELL TANKERS, TORM TANKERS, FLEET , NYK LINE, SYNERGY, PACIFIC BASIN, BRITISH WHALES, ANGLO EASTERN, ETC. And every company had made a decent offers to the cadets. Highest package offered 15 lakhs. Almost every cadets gets placed which enrolled in this Institute. I will be joining shipping and will be sailing.

So for the last batch the tution fees was around 800000 for full course. But during our admission the fees hiked to 1100000 for full course.These type of hike can be expected in fees. The total fees is around 1100000 for full course which include everything along with hostels and tution fees. There are some scholarship provided to people belonging to ews category. And for lady cadets (i.e. female students) a scholarship from synergy is provided which include full course. There are many events held in college in which prize money is given to people. And internship is also provided by college throuch companies like nyk line and chevron.

Our college organises Asia's biggest marine fest which have 4 parts:- propulsion(technical events), cacophony(cultural event), chakravyuh(sports event). There are variety of books provided in college library. The classroom are fully air conditioned with projectors facility. There are events held in college in which u can brush ur skills and also win prize rewards. Sports like football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, hockey, table tennis are played. There are also social societies which are there in college campus.

So there are rooms provided in which 6 cadets(students) accomodate. The room are spacious and living with 5 people from different places is also a amazing thins to experience. Quality of meal provided is good but u will get bore as the menu doesn't change so quickly. You will get registered to hostel at the time of admission in college as our college is a resendential college. I didn't rent any pg.

So basically for joining this you should have minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM AND 60% MARKS in english in both 10 and 12 both. We can find application form, application fees and application dates online on official website of INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY. The entrance exam held every year in the month of june/july.The syllabus of examination is upto 12th class. The exam is moderate. The improvement that is needed in admission process is that results should declared soon after completion of entrance examination. Rest all things are good.
