Course Curriculum Overview

Currently I am the first year cadet at IMU Kolkata campus. I have joined in 2023 entry batch. This college has great faculty teams. Classes are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. semester exams are in June and December.

Class Size: 42Course Fees: INR 275000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Like synergy is offering for internship and I don't know about the internship programs but I know that carrots go to Goa in various companies for internship program and also in Indian Navy day offers of you program for the cadets of our campus

Placement Experience

Not talking about the placement scenario so starting from second semester the companies are coming in the college like chevron is a company which is coming for 1st year cadet. If you are girl then you will get easily placed in first year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees increasing every year but if if you are from lower caste. They are also many scholarship from various companies. Girls are also easily placed and get scholarship . You will have great opportunities for various internship programs offered by many companies.

Campus Life

Is college organize aisa's biggest fest TEMPEST. This is of 4 days this is many branches like cacophony propulsion chakravyu etc . DJ night is very amazing you will be enjoying much in this four days.

Admission

This college is the Best college for marine engineering in India. It is well knowned for its legacy alumni. For joining this college one must appear for imucet entrance exam. After that counselling will happen and you will be alloted the desired college of IMU . There are also reservation benefits for lower caste and scheduled caste and schedule tribes. I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
