Course Curriculum Overview

Mescet Kunnukara follows apj abdul kalam kerala technological University syllabus and currently the 2019 update of the syllabus is running. The syllabus will be updated for 2024-2028 batch. But for now, computer science based courses are included with engineering graphics, mechanics, civil and mechanical engineering basics, C programming etc for the first academic year. Although, the course is not ao industry relevant, it provides a thorough base in technology. Even semester exam happens in may and odd semester in January.

Class Size: 47Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee for btech computer science in management quota is 40000 per semester+ a one time security deposit of 5200 inr. Hostel fee per year is 52000 and you're supposed to pay additional fees like exam fee per course and special fee 500. The college does provide scholarship on the basis of twelth grade cgpa and national or state level exam cutoffs. I have currently not taken any campus placements.

Campus Life

The college doesn't conduct a lot of fests and events. An annual arts and sports fest is conducted in both semesters. A freshers day is celebrated to welcome the freshman students. Apart from that, college also participates in inter college arts and sports fests. Classroom is very basic but spacious. There are not a lot of extracurricular activity even though there are student clubs like IEEE, IEDC, GDSC & GDC are present.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is comprised of a flat with two bedroom, a hall, a kitchen space and a bathroom with balcony as well. All this for merely 2200 rupees per month. Additional cost of 3000 is for monthly mess fee. The food is south indian food of good quality and quantity. Meals like biryani, appam etc are served. In case you need pg, you can take rooms in cochin. The college bus will be available.

Admission

The admission process to mescet kunnukara is through KEAM ( Kerala engineering entrance exam ) , Lateral entry or management quota. For keam, I'm not aware of the exact cut-off but i got in to the college through keam but my admission was done at management quota. The application form for admission can be found in mescet.ac.in website and you can apply online, but you have to complete your admission offline. Exams occur at the end of semester and there are two internal exams in a semester along with lab exams.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
