Course Curriculum Overview
• The constant pressure put on me by the seniors and administration to get disciplined greatly helped me to become tough both mentally and physically. • The curriculum prepares one well to go out and shine in the field of sailing and also prepares one well to pursue carrers in other academic fields like mechanical engineering. • I am in no position to suggest anything on this matter • The frequency of the exams is totally normal and the difficulty level of the exams is hard.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Nippon Yussen Kabushaki Kaisha, Pacific Basin, Mediterranean Shipping hipping Company come to the campus to give jobs to the get it and also provide various internship programs. These internship programmes are very helpful in preparing one for future academic careers and sailng careers. I am currently in no position to talk about the internship programmes that come to the college campus as I have not enrolled myself in any of these initiatives or programmes.
Placement Experience
• Cadets become eligible for campus placements from the third year onwards. • The companies that often come to the college to provide jobs to the kids are Nippon Yusse Kabushaki Kaisha, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Pacific Basin and many more. • The percentage of students getting placements in the college is somewhere between 85 to 90%, which is preety good. • My plans after getting the degree is to appear in the Combined Defence Service exam and go to the Indian Armed Forces.
Fees and Financial Aid
• The complete cost of 4 years education in this college is 1100000 including tuition fees service fees and all other compulsory charges. • I have not yet taken up any campus employment initiative but I have observed executives or representatives of various multinational large shipping companies coming to the college to provide jobs to the cadets and this is proof of the employment opportunities that often come to the college for the cadets.
Campus Life
• The annual fest that is held in the college is called Tempest. It is held in the college every year in the month of February. It is often called the biggest Maritime fest of the continent of Asia. • Accessibility of books and other study materials in the library of the college is good but the unavailability of several required books and study materials during times of great need is a matter of concern. • Classes are air conditioned and also fitted with fans. Projectors are also often fitted by the professors so that the cadets can view several presentations made by the professors in order to teach in a much more interesting manner. • Several tournaments of various sports are held every year in the campus in the Tempest.
Hostel Facilities
• The rooms in the hostel are fitted with several fans, lights and the rooms are also renovated. • The meals provided in the dining halls are not good at all. • The registration process for hostel and affordability is normal. • I am in no position to answer that question.
Admission
• The eligibility of the course depends on clearing the IMU CET exam • The application form, fees, and application dated are found in the IMU.edu.in website • Me being a a person from the ST category and belonging from the state of Tripura, which is a special state greatly helped me • The timing of the IMU CET exam was a very ideal one as it was in the month of June. The difficulty level of the exam was medium. • I do not find any flaw in the admission process as it is a smooth one
