Honest review about Thapar University

I enrolled in computer engineering because of my interests in coding. The curriculum here prepares for the real life things , the college societies organise various events which increases ones confidence, coding skills etc. Academics includes C language in semester 1 and no coding subject in semester 2 , which can be improved, like computer engineering students should get computer subjects in their first year also. Exams occurs twice per semester,MSTs and ESTs and difficulty level is normal.

Internships are provided in the second year of college, companies including JP Morgan come to campus and also provides pre placement offers. Various projects are supposed to be made in order to get eligible for these companies and also the skills

Students get internship in their second year of college. Lot of companies including apple and Google visited thapar and offered package. Highest package was around 60lakh and average goes around 12-15 lakh. My plans after completing degree is to go for higher studies

Coming onto fees, so thapar University is a private college and it charge a lot of fees. Fees on average including Tuition fees , hostel fees and mess fees goes around 6lakh per year. And increases per year. There are various scholarships provided here , first is a scholarship based on marks and second based of family income. It can reduce a lot of fees and sometimes complete tuition and development fees , means you only have to pay for mess and hostel.

College life here is very good like you get a beautiful and a big campus, having a lot of things inside it. College events keep going every month. The annual events are Saturnalia, thapar food festival and Urja . Thapar has a very huge library having thousands of books which is easily accessible to students. In classrooms we have projector and teachers writes on his device which is displayed on the screen in front. Sports including Cricket, badminton, football,table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball etc , having well furnished grounds and coach.

I gave JEE and scored 96 percentile. The cutoff for Computer Engineering for the Punjab students were 93.5 and outside Punjab was around 95. The application form cost 1500 rupees. There was no exam for the admission, the admission was on the basis of your JEE Score. There is a lot of crowd in thapar which has come from boards as 30% students are from boards , so if thapar reduces the boards criteria and make it all JEE , the quality of students can increase.
